The Wish List

Watts also say we held talks with Richarlison agents 😂. Edu want to get all Brazilian ballers here
I've always been a bit on the fence with Richarlison but I have been really impressed by his desire and hunger during Evertons relegation battle, he was the reason the avoided the drop in my opinion. He would be a good option for the left here.

Richarlison Jesus Saka looks a well balanced front 3 who would all get double figures for league goals I reckon.

If we bought Marquinhos for 3 we could certainly bring Solomon for 7.5.
He is 22 and had amazing moments in the champions league.
He Could become a 30 mil players and we need a wider squad.

Well, now that Kamara and Hložek have signed elsewhere and Elneny and Nketiah are staying, time for an update.

Nahuel Molina
Aaron Hickey
Maxence Caqueret / Rúben Neves
Gabriel Jesus
Charles de Ketelaere

Florian Grillitsch if we sell Xhaka
Ismaila Sarr if we sell Pépé

No Means Yes
This is probably going to be similar to a lot of the others posted, because our needs are glaring this year. It's not a proper dream list either, trying to keep things fairly realistic.

Think if we managed to get those 5 positions sorted with quality then we'll be in good shape next year. In my mind, getting a DM to back up Partey is a priority. I don't mind Nketiah staying but someone versatile like Hlozek could be very exciting. Interested to see Turner as well.

In's
Jesus (or Gouiri / Toney)
Hlozek or Nunez
Tielemans or Paqueta
Bissouma or Phillips/Neves
Hickey or Cucurella
Turner

(£130m - 180m ish, total in fees)

Contract renewal ("Holds") -
Saliba
Nketiah
Saka

"Outs" -
Pepe
Leno
Bellerin
Torreira
Tavares (on loan probably)
Elneny (Unfortunately this looks unlikely)
Nelson
Mari
Ballard (or keep him!)

(Perhaps £50m in fees if lucky?)
Net Spend - £80m to £130m ish

Quality over quantity, four signings would transform this team significantly.

GK - Ramsdale, Turner, Okonkwo
DL - Zinchenko, Tierney
DC - Gabriel, Saliba
DC - White, Holding
DR - Tomiyasu, Cedric
DM - Partey, Elneny
MC - Ødegaard, ESR
MC - Paqueta, Xhaka
FL - Gnabry, Martinelli
FC - Jesus, Nketiah
FR - Saka, Nelson

Cedric sticks out like a bit of a sore thumb but I would keep him for one more year and then hopefully Norton-Cuffy replaces him next summer. We could do better than Nelson as backup to Saka but he has done well on loan and probably deserves another chance here.

Zinchenko would be brilliant because he also increases the quality in midfield when Tierney is fit, him, Jesus and Gnabry all have one year left on their contracts so not completely out of the realms of possibility.

For a DM would anyone be keen to get Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester to partner Partey? I really wouldn't mind him if we had to find a proper DM. Even Abdoulaye Doucoure from Everton if we wanted a bit more experience?

Sangare would be a better choice IMO. Slightly better on the ball (not by much but Ndidi is pretty brutal at times).

Why buy a player for 7.5M (with bags of potential aged 23-24) when you can just play Elneny (Christ) and buy him a year later for 25M after Elneny signs an extension. When you see an obvious choice you can count on Arteta to take the opposite direction.

We could have developed exciting players instead of Elneny, Tavares Etc... Absolute blunder job. When you think they can't bottle it more and then they fail to qualify to the champions league for all the wrong reasons with 5 losses to low midtable teams. Unbelievable waste of resources and hopes.
Jesus. (not the Gabriel one)

Yeah, it's an annoying one. Even the one I'm in favour of to a degree (Nketiah) sets a dangerous precedent in terms of squad building. Sangare not the cleanest technician, sure, but he's a duel winner and capable of dribbling out of trouble.

I'm worried about that midfield next season. Tielemans will help our progression and approach play but we'll still lack thrust.

Realistic enough
Jesus ST
Tielemans CM
Zinchenko LB/CM

Solid 20mil CB if Saliba leaves
Unrealistic addition
Swap Pepe with Gnabry to bench Martinelli and provide cover at CF for Jesus

Arsenal Quotes

In June 1996, David Dein, Peter Hill-Wood and Danny Fiszman came out to Nagoya to meet me on behalf of Arsenal. Within an hour we came to an agreement. The Japanese directors didn't try to keep hold of me in the usual way but talked with persuasive arguments... But as far as I was concerned, the decision was taken. Arsenal. A decision that would change my life.
