Joao Gomez is someone we should be looking at as a midfield option. Could see him being very effective in the role Jorginho was playing vs Pool.

Would much rather spend 250-300m on 5-6 players (including Raya) then on Frankie and Osimhen. Save the big money transfers on absolute world beaters that fall under the category of Bellingham/Mbappe. With that in mind:

In:
Zubimendi (50m)
Inaki Williams (50M)
Toney (50m)
Raya (30m)
Rayan Ait Nouri (50m)
Brantwaite (50m)
Back up GK (5-10m)

Out:
Nelson (15m)
Partey (15m)
Nketiah (20m)
Trossard (20m)
Jorginho (10m)
Ramsdale (30m)
Kiwior (15m)
ESR (20m)
Tavares (5m)
Lokongba (15m)

Still doesn’t feel like there’s enough attacking creativity there imo

Wirtz or Simons for me. I’d be happy with either one tbf. Was holding out on pushing for the former as you never know with cruciate ligament injuries and how a player will return but he looked the better talent than Jamal Musiala out there yesterday but I guess there’s still a lot of room for the both of them to grow as they’re 20 years old.

As I said to @Rasmi in the Bundesliga thread the main thing is more to do with who will play in the 6 if we sign another creative outlet for me. Not even sending shots at Rice or anything but we need him to show a side to his game that he can pass through the lines like Jorginho and Partey are able to do. As of yet, we haven’t really seen that.

Yeah watched the game yesterday.

For me maybe Wirtz is that guy, but Simons is perhaps too lightweight to play together with Øde and Rice imo. Has a tackle on him though in fairness.

Unless we go like City and couple Rice with a Stones type player from the back line. White or Timber maybe. But that would more or less require four cbs as our Backlund, similar to City, and I’m frankly done with copying them

Yeah, I’m leaning towards Wirtz tbf but Simons would have a really good addition in our team had we not committed to Kai last summer and tweaked our system slightly. Trossard could be the player we have to let go for this to happen.

I see many on the TL saying Havertz was doing similar things at Leverkusen before he made the move to the PL but it’s too simplistic to think like that. Both players are different profiles and these days it’s more about the system than anything. I can’t see Wirtz staying at Leverkusen for that long especially when he’s putting up numbers like 23 G/A in 29 apps in all comps which he has at this stage of the season. Hopefully City don’t get him 😂

I’m taking Simons or Wirtz over Havertz any day as anyone else, but the physicality and defensive can’t be ignored either.

A midfield of Simons, Rice, Ødegaard is too lightweight imo. I, just as @db10_therza really like Barella. But as you say, Simons for Trossard and play him a bit like Foden could well be a way. He’s just such a baller

Looking at our squad I can understand people want to add a striker to the roster, but I honestly don't see any striker that excites me so much that I'd want him as a starter over Jesus. Even if you buy one, I wouldn't sell Jesus because he can play at a high level across the front three. If we want to compete for both the PL and CL, you can't sell a player like that. I'd rather use Havertz as a back-up striker and sell Nketiah.

Looking at our strongest starting XI, the two positions that I worry about are LCM and LB. I'm hesitant to add LW, because Martinelli has disappointed so far this campaign, but he's shown last season that he can have high output and the game against Liverpool showed how dangerous he can be.

At LB I'm worried Zinchencko, who I like as a player, can't stay fit and has defensive limitations. I also don't like Kiwior as a back-up. It's a shame we let a talented player from our academy go, because there should be space to develop a player there behind Zinchencko. Saves a lot of transfer funds and has high potential upside. Not sure who we could get in this position, though. Grimaldo would've been great, but will be crazy expensive. In terms of depth Hartman at Feyenoord could be a good option. I really rate him. Shouldn't cost too much.

At LCM, Havertz should've been the solution, but he isn't (as I didn't think he would be). I'd relegate Havertz to the back-up role for LCM, RCM (we don't really have anyone behind Ødegaard either) and primarily back-up ST. There are rumors De Jong is leaving Barcelona in the summer and he'd be my dream signing there. Another option that I've been banging on for a while is Barella, he was my main target for LCM last summer (together with Mac Allister before we lost him to Liverpool).

With regards to depth I'm worried about RW, but I doubt we can sign anyone of sufficient quality who'd be happy to sit in the shadow of Saka most of the time. Another reason I'd really look to keep Jesus in the squad. Shame we're probably losing ACD on a free because we're not giving our academy players any prospects. Another place where we could've solved depth issues internally without depleting the war chest.

Leon Bailey from Villa has been excellent since Emery took over there.

Has a bit more attacking verve than Nelson. Reckon he would fit into Tetas system nicely.

Xavi Simmons bro. We should of bought him or Kudus. But apparently Mik only falls in love with lead footed tall German metrosexuals. Crazy football, dancing, and living longer are like the short man’s three advantages and they want to rob of us of that to.

Seen we were linked to Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. A very direct winger with a big ceiling. I'd be impressed with him (it would mean Reiss leaving IMO but I'm OK with that, I still think he should have left in the Summer).

However, I'm even more impressed with this player who just left Villa a short while ago and looks a massive talent. Saw he scored a brace for the England U21s tonight aswell.

He's got the tricks and directness but just has that little bit of guile and cleverness to round him out as a talent. Probably won't come to Arsenal but if we're looking for a winger with a big ceiling to challenge, he's one to watch IMO. 21 years old with Championship experience.

This guy is very impressive. He's fully made his way onto my wishlist of potentials. Skilful, athletic, can use his weak foot, plays both wings. He's him.
