I hear @2Smokeyy ‘s Trent shout. He’s one of those players that I actually think would do really well under Mikel’s regimented systems. He struggles a bit with positioning but Mik would sort that right out and you’d be left with absolutely world class distribution. Trent could actually be the British Pirlo.

It’s never gonna happen though 😂

In our system he wouldn’t look exposed at all imo. The compactness of our shape and Rice’s recovery pace was hiding Jorginho’s deficiencies, I figure the same would happen with TAA especially as he’d have a lot more protection than he currently has at Liverpool.

There were no eyes on him when Liverpool were at their best and Fabinho was at his peak. I agree though it’s not happening as it seems like he’s Madrid bound.

Doue looks a talent, get him, so…

Doue, Nico, Big Vic, Guimaraes/Frenkie, Onana, Ferdi.

If replacing Ramsdale then Lunin.
If replacing TP5 then Fofana.

Optional… Diomande

24/25…. Title challenge re-activated

Cover in every area.

The defence and Rice won us the league.

Country: England

White Saliba Gabriel Timber

—Ødegaard De Jong
—Saka Havertz Leao

GK, Tomi Kiwior Ferdi Onana Jorginho Vieira Nwaneri Martinelli Trossard Jesus

Ramsdale, KT, ESR, Partey, Sambi, Nelson, Eddie out.

Leao and FDJ take the 23/24 team up two levels. FDJ and Rice complement each other in midfield. What Rice struggles at FDJ is great at and visa versa.

Leao offers us X Factor, PnP, transition threat which is something we currently don’t really have.

Ferdi offers us creativity from fullback, and Onana offers us an alternative to Rice’s PnP. These guys are market opportunities, only go for them if we can get a good deal.

I believe the above squad wins the league by 5 points and is a major contender for the CL.

I haven’t actually been impressed with Leao recently.

I think unless it’s Isak or Musiala we should stay clear of £100M+ forwards. Rather sign a Doue with potential to be that level.

We'll win the league brother, I dont care with City do in response.

I was watching Leao for Portugal the other day, and they use him to hold the width on that left side. It allows him to not only be isolated in space, but it also leaves that left halfspace open for runs in behind.

Leao also gets closer to goal, along with Saka, with Havertz dropping into the 9.5 role behind (the tip of the diamond).

Stuff of dreams though, but I like the way you think.

Martinelli is better than Leao.

I'd only be interested in Leao if he's available for a cut price, which is unlikely.

Sell: Ramsdale, Tierney, Partey, Vieira, Nelson, Lokonga & Nketiah.

Loan: Xavi Simons.

Buy : Desirè Douè, Amadou Onana & throw the bulk of the warchest on Isak.

Saka & Ødegaard have a ready made back-ups in Jesus & Zinchenko respectively.

If we're not going to jettison by City 5th columnists, might as well use them as squad players only.
