Matter of pride now imo. If we had Mudryk I’d like to have thought he’d look much better than he does at Chelsea, but he’s too far gone now. He can’t be saved.s

I agree, Im not convinced by Mudryk at all he looks like a total novice. However, after we signed Havertz nothing is off the table anymore.

There is a chance Mudryk looks better under Arteta who is known to give players clear minimalist roles.

He might do Martinelli’s role better despite not being a better player is what I am trying to say.

He’s too far gone imo. Honestly, I would stay well clear of these confidence players in our attack as we’ve got quite a few of them on our books already. The only exceptions should be someone who has at least proven it like Rashford has done with his 40 G/A season in 22/23.

Imagine an attack of Mudryk, Kai and Jesus 😭 we’d be waiting until pigs fly for them to hit the back of the net.

I'm doing that thing again where I'm kinda of joking at first then I end up convincing myself.

Well objectively speaking he is one of the ok options out there, which kinda supports Arteta and Edu’s position.

I don’t for a second think Arteta is saying “pls don’t sign me a hype top tier forward”.

However, I do think he has been somewhat limited this summer and weighed up what cost him more points between the LB musical chairs and the Havertz/Jesus and made his decision.

I think Williams would be the best signing, but that seems unlikely now.

Mudryk needs a lot of tactical work, but my bigger concern with him is that he doesnt seem able to play on both wings.

Doue is probably the best bet left for me. Can cover on both wings, can carry the ball well and has that in game intelligence already. Doesnt stretch the play as Mudryk would in transition, but he'll give you that pass away into space, or create space with his ability to drag players.

So would we be happy with Mbeumo as Saka back up? Reliable, knows the league and always a decent amount of goals and assists. 25. Bald.

I’d rather keep Nelson. Playing out wide for Brentford is completely different than Arsenal. I think he’d be really poor for us tbh.

Why are people talking about people we are not even linked with ?

No links to Mbuemo.
Williams is obviously waiting for Barca
Mudryk is at Chelsea & nothing suggesting we are going back for him.

People living in a hypothetical world now 😂

It’s fairly likely the signing we make in the forward position is either gonna be a Nico Williams out the blue or someone we haven’t been linked with at all.

Merino

Fabian Ruiz (loan without)

That’s complete cover across our first team. We’d be able to rest Saka, Ødegaard, Rice, Saliba, Gabriel and maintain top top qualiteee.
