Someone here said bring home Welbz a few days ago, to which I agree a fit, on form, Welbz regen hybrid CF/winger is exactly what we need now. If we go for pure CF there are Osimhen and Gyokeres, both good to great buy if at right price, but imo we wont do this due to Havertz improving form/reliability at CF, need for Saka cover or alternative to bad form GabNelli.

There are actually several names of that hybrid CF/winger type that imo attainable, all has played both wings+CF, all pacy, tall, relatively two footed, statswise at least reliable finisher, good dribbler/ball carrier, decent aerial :

Mathys Tel (elite potential, aged 19 so still raw, but near impossible to get as he is at Bayern bigger club than us who clearly rates Tel as 1 of their future stars, but they also have Musiala, Olise, as young wingers so with big offer we may get Tel).

Bradley Barcola (elite potential, aged 22, a bit raw but did very well last season, imo a bit easier to get vs Tel as PSG is not bigger than us, need big offer as they clearly rates Barcola as 1 of their future stars, but they also have Doue, Lee, Mbiya, Lookman (rumours) as young wingers, and they may need money to fund Osimhen as now they only have Muani as CF, so with big offer we may get Barcola).

Antoine Semenyo (aged 24, did good in EPL imo good enough as our subs/rotation option at CF/wings, imo will get better with us, Bournemouth has options for CF and both wings so should allow him leave).

There are also both sided wingers that statswise good dribbler/ball carrier, imo attainable, and good enough as our rotation option/Saka cover :

Simon Adingra (aged 22, did good in EPL imo good enough as winger subs/rotation option, imo will get better with us, Brighton has options for both wings so should allow him leave).

Brahim Diaz (aged 25, did good at Milan and Madrid, imo will get better with us to starter level at wing/10, Madrid has Vini, Rodrygo, Guler so Diaz should be available at right price).

Chris Fuhrich (aged 26, did good in Bundesliga imo good enough as winger subs/rotation option, imo will get better with us, Stuttgart has options for both wings so should allow him leave).

Thats 3 good to great attainable options each for CF/winger hybrid and pure winger, Edteta should know more options than me so imo its pure incompetence if they dont get us at least 1 good to great quality forward as imo only Saka, Havertz, and Trossard are reliable, all our other forwards are either in bad form, unreliable in fitness or scoring, or simply not good enough must be sold (Nketiah, Nelson).

Out of all these options, Barcola is the standout.

He would transform the left hand side to be honest as he has a bit of everything to his game. Pace, trickery and playmaking ability to be a menace on that left hand side

I have noted Barcola since his at Lyon, where he also plays well mostly at RW, about same at CF and LW. Imo he can play well anywhere up front. Perfect for us.

Tel imo as talented as Barcola, plays more at LW and CF, less at RW on Bundesliga, but younger and rawer vs Barcola. Also at Bayern likely harder to get.

After them, Semenyo is similar profile, entering his prime, less talent but has done well enough in EPL to get him at right price.

I'd argue Tel is probably easier to get than Barcola. Barcola will most likely end up being one of PSG's jewels so will be harder to prize him away - whereas Tel could easily find himself in a position like Zirkzee was a few years back and end up moving early on to play more games. I do think it will be tough to get Tel though, but I reckon he'd be more vulnerable than Barcola.

I don't hear much talk about Gyokeres. Plays CF, appears to be a goal machine and has a decent all round game - stats suggest he creates lots of chances as well as score them. Just turned 26 so perfect age. Release clause around £80m and coming from Portugal probably won't have ridiculous salary demands. After the Calafiori and Merino, this would appear to be the perfect signing. Surely it gets us closer to the PL title?

I don't know why we refuse to turn down big players, particularly a proper striker but we really need someone like this guy. The reports I've read about Edu agreeing terms with Osimhen but Arteta turned down the deal I wonder if they are right. I've read different reasons but one reason which seems strange, he doesn't want one guy on a huge amount compared to the rest of the squad, wants the players around the same amount apparently.

I know we could do with a proper striker but there's something up with Osimhen, when all of Europe doesn't bite, he ends up in Turkey (no offence).

In house wish... give Nwaneri the #10, save the #42 for Musiala
He isn’t coming. He is German and plays for biggest team in Germany guaranteed trophies. Here unless he plays for City he is moving down the pecking order and probably not winning much

If we want a backup CAM or RW for Saka &/or Ødegaard after Sterling, would anyone be keen to give Mohammed Kudus from WHU a shot if he's cheap enough & decent wages?
Kudus isn't going to be cheap. I think West Ham will demand 70M+ for him seeing as they paid 40M for him to begin. I think he's priced out of coming here because we're not City.

Some of us wanted him when he was 40 million instead of Havertz
