The Wish List

I'd be okay with something like this:

Striker - David - this season has scored against PSG, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Atletico, Dortmund, Juventus, all pretty handy teams. Comes at a low price which gives us more options in the market...
AM/SS: Rodrygo - I want him central and doing all the things he can do, taking pressure off the rest of the attacking unit. Think he's an enormous talent and could bring goals from midfield, in a way, or add a second striker option (plus the usual assists and space he'd create).
Midfielder #1: Zubi - I think this is done so...
Midfielder #2 de Jong - apparently available for not a whole lot, and while salary is high, can play.

Add Garcia and a versatile defender and I'd be pretty happy with that.

I'm okay with Jesus, Martinelli, and Trossard rotating through LW with Rodrygo, with Ode/Nwaneri rotating through that No 10 position, and de Jong coming in to the midfield on a fairly regular basis if the latter two are moved.

Basically Martinelli with tekkers, yes this is the type!

It’s hard to find, I like guys like Rodrygo, N.Williams, etc but they don’t have that dog in them do they. Don’t have that aggression we need to take over games, harass defenders.

Man sometimes these guys like Leao totally just want to look cool on the pitch, if they had the drive they could totally take over games, go really hard for 20 mins and decide games easily, especially in our setup where we just keep giving the ball to our wingers, they can even afford to lose the ball a lot but just go for it.

If Leao had that in his game I believe he is the perfect star we are looking for.

I want someone who is relentless, very similar to Martinelli just with a bit more ability.

I suppose these are hard to find though, as the combination of talent and drive would probably put them at world class level and unattainable.

Someone who can take the game on themselves and drive the team forward.

Closest current thing I have seen like the above is Kvaratshrkelia and that boat has sailed.

I think we need to look at someone who is ready to go to the next level.

I wonder what you guys think of Elanga. He’s 23, is smart with the ball, doesn’t lose it much and has hunger, he beats his fullback easily and crucially he can go inside AND outside his fullback.

He can cover RW but I love when he plays LW and cuts in.

Names that we haven't been linked with that would be realistic and come out of the blue -

Eze
Bowen
Simons
Fermin Lopez
MGW
Gordon
Nico Paz
Retegui
Charles De Ketelaere

Names that are very VERY unlikely, but give us actual clear improvement, that I believe would be doable at the right price (expensive)

Harry kane - Release clause £67M
Julian Alvarez
Isak (still think it's doable for £150M)
Wirtz - probably gone now but again, he's there for £126M
Lautaro Martinez

And my wildcard for this window is Morgan Rogers. When you're looking at the quality available, he may not be the perfect fit for what we need but he's probably got more quality than anyone we have been linked with. Think we could get him for £80M.

These names wouldn't surprise me at all. Simons is versatile and an obvious Jesus competitor, Lopez for Ode backup, Retegui just seems like an Arsenal signing, and Martinez has been linked before and would be a pretty big statement of intent - top striker, World Cup, Serie A, and Copa America winner, and has a defensive quality about him that suits Arteta. Would be pretty happy with all of them tbh - Martinez and Simons as an attack revamp would be an excellent window alongside Zubi.

Simons gives me such Nasri/Rosicky vibes.
Wenger wouldn’t hesitate.
Doesn’t suit Arteta ball.
I want it to happen now.

Simons will be good combo for Šeško as LW. Just Sell Trossard and get Xavi.
Xavi can free roam entire left side and be effective, he can cover LW, Left and Right 8 and CF.

Out our linked LWs in Barcola, Williams, Semenyo, Gordon, Rodrgyo, Sane, Simons, Mitoma, Gittens, Leao and Mitoma.

The best options in my opinion
- Barcola and Simons

Not good enough
- Leao
- Gittens

Hugo Ekitike - Forget Isak, he has some Henry qualities.
Xavi Simons - Versatile but does he block Nwaneiri? Of course Rodrygo would be ideal here.
Camavinga (or Tchouameni) - if Stiller signs for Real and Guler wins the other starting spot. Partey Replacement

Next year
Kvaratskhelia. Quite serious but one for later. I think playing time at PSG for the wide players will create problems.

I have my heart set on Simons but I don’t think that’s the profile Arteta wants.

Doesn’t suit with an inverted LB. One could argue that Trossard has a similar profile and that having Martinelli+Simons gives us flexibility but if MLS is considered the main guy I can’t see Simons being brought in to be the ’alternative solution’.

That said, Simons would be my first pick for LW. Just because Nasri was one of my favorit players of that era.

Doing a little revision on my wish list for the summer as some targets are unobtainable or things have changed:

Striker: Benjamin Šeško. Based on that he's the obvious first choice as the new striker.
Left winger: Bradley Barcola. Think we need to move on from Williams with his high wage demands and that he seemingly is not interested.
CM: Martin Zubimendi. Still see him as the best choice for our midfield.
CB/LB: Jorrel Hato. Just too much of a talent not to sign him. He will make the LB position his own and Lewis-Skelly can move to midfield with Calafiori backing up and challenging Gabriel.
GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga. Garcia is moving to Barcelona and we need a decent backup for Raya. Kepa at £6m would be a decent signing and he's already settled in London.

Salary Demand around £195k-a-week

Value (£67m)

He wants to leave for Europe.
Will be great for LW and plays with Šeško.
His top speed is around 33 kmph
He will be great versatile attacking addition.

Nico Salary demand is too much.
I'd be excited if we get Simons, but if he has to come with the giraffe too, there's no way Leipzig will sell two of their main attacking players in the same window.

Xavi has informed he wants to leave now that they are not in European Competition.
Šeško has gentlemen agreement.

They need to rebuild without CL.

What if there was madness. Arteta did say we need to add numbers.

In-
Gok
Šeško
Zubi
Eze
Cherki

Out-
Zinny
Jesus
Viera
Tierney
Tommy
Taveres
Lokonga
Nelson
Marquinos

Gk- raya/?
Rb- timber/white
Rcb- saliba/white/kiwi
Lcb- gab/kiwi/Cali
Lb- MLS/Cali
CDM- zubi/partey
Cm- rice/Merino
Cam- ode/havertz
Lw- eze/martinelli/trossard
Rw- saka/cherki/ethan
CF- gok/Šeško

That's serious quality depth. We could do what Liverpool do and when things are not going right we can swap a front 3 with different qualities.

By the way, if Kiwior leaves Hancko at Feyenoord would be a great option. Also very solid at LB. Saudi trying to get him for €32+4m. Think for €35-40m should be attainable.
