Don't think it's an expectation, just more like hope. It's been an insane window either way. Martinelli out and Rodrygo in would pretty much be the best transfer window ever seen in football.

Exactly. This is why I wanted to improve LW from the get-go with Eze replacing Trossard and Rodrygo replacing Martinelli. Basically would've given us insane flexibility. I didn't count on Nwaneri being a more central player and Madueke coming in though.

I still hope we get someone like Nusa and sell Martinelli. Leao-/Rodrygo are not going to happen.

Been following him since his Wolfsburg times 2019-21. He got them to qualify for the Champions League in hist last season there. After that he left for Frankfurt because had a falling out with Wolfburg's sporting director Schmadtke (the guy Klopp briefly hired at Liverpool). He is also not married to the 3-4-3 as he played a 4-2-3-1 in Wolfsburg.

In Frankfurt he began playing the 3-4-3 and won the Europa League with them. Strong character who has been succesful everywhere he went. Always impressed by the way he sets up Palace. Also interesting how he got Mateta's career back on track who was already considered a failure at Palace. In Frankfurt he got the best out of Kolo Muani
