The Wish List

Apart from Beckenbauer no one was as successful as Hansen.. Ive seen Baresi live a few times and I would not have had him ahead of hansen.. The thing which most people underestimate about hansen was his reading of the game and ability on the ball.. he was instrumental in liverpool winning european cups and titles..

by few times i mean live in the stadium and not on tv.. baresi won 2 EC to Hansens 3..
last i checked, he won 3 EC's.. (one was the CL after the name changed) and also won the WC...

also, he didnt make it into the Top 100 players by FIFA... only Daglish made it from Scotland....

sorry, cant see him being better than Baresi...

the top 100 fifa list is quite amusing.. you would find such luminaries such as El Hadji Diouf, Mia Hamm and Michelle Akers.. Anyone who knows anything about football would have heard the name of dennis law who happened to have been a European player of the year as well.. Fifa lists actually strengthens my point of view

Erm, that's just Pele's list (both US and Le Tallec). It was roundly criticised at the time and such lists should be taken at face value, neither unequivocally supporting or undermining any arguments.

I want a new manager, a tactician, new medical staff, a strong #2, a new defensive coach, a new style of play...........

Thats not the argument though is it, the argument is who was the better player. Being successful is completely different. Hansen didnt win the title's the team did.

Im sorry but to argue Hansen is better than Baresi and you lose all credibility. Ask any non Liverpool fan to name the best 10 CB's in History and Hansen would be nowhere near. It shows a complete ignorance to past greats like John Charles or Bobby Moore.

That PSG defender does look mean doesn't he...that's what we need in our back line. Djourou has all the skills but he is a little too nice.

I'd also like that Rosicky guy. I hear he's pretty good.

Would just like to revive this list.

It's a fairly "realistic" list, shall we say, a good mix of well-known-enough players (Diego, Frey, Hilbert) and some relatively not-known-enough players (Vidal, Kringe, Matias Delgado) which I really know by name, Football Manager, Soccermanager and youtube only.

Palombo or Cana or Veloso for the midfield (I'm only basing on reputation. Never seen these players in real life. And i like what i've heard)

Sakho, Hangeland, Albiol for defense.

Other areas we're beyond well stocked.

unless henry decides he wants to reutnr, to which i'll say yes in a jiffy.
