A midfield of Wharton and Lewis-Skelly in the future with Rice and Zubimendi right now? Yes please.
Rice is a physical beast. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player run back and forth for an entire match with that level of intensity and defensive capacity.

If we're looking at midfield I think we should focus on someone young who can grow with team. I'd like us to look at:

Caleb Yirenkyi - Nordsjaelland

Christ Inao Oulai - Trabzonspor

Lucien Agoume - Sevilla

I think these guys could really improve at bigger clubs. Would be great to see them on our radar for the summer.

I like Lamine Camara from Monaco, too, but he likely won’t be cheap. Excellent motor, and has a lot of the technical, ball retention and other skills that Arteta loves.

Yes, I'm watching him against Marseille now and he is also one we should be looking at. Midfielder market is really good right now.

This guy is so good... if we are looking a LW

Plays RW as often and as good as LW, good weaker left foot, only 19 but starts at Bundesliga doing very well both by eyes and stats. Imo good chance to succeed at highest level, won't complain if Arsenal buy him this winter/next summer, just need patience to develop him for a season or two.

I know Arteta has a fetish for CB but this is more forward planning + not allowing City to strengthen their backline. For me, bringing him in on a free in the summer is a no brainer that’s if he’s interested in battling for a starting position. It’s funny how the club have been looking for a LCB for years and an opportunity arises like this, would save them 50 or 60m on a transfer fee too.

We have White, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapié, Mosquera, Calafiori and MLS. In any other situation I'd be in favor of signing Guehi, but it doesn't make sense in terms of squad planning unless we're moving players too.

No chance he comes here to compete for a spot when he'll have so many elite suitors that'll give him a more guaranteed spot.

I expect him to go to one of our fellow competitors, probably Liverpool since Konate has looked so off the boil.

I think we’ll move White on soon as his body just isn’t as robust as he once was.

For me it all depends on the Hincapie deal and the finer details with that one. He could turn out to be great for us however Guehi is more established imo (that itself could be a negative. Like @Bloodbather says there will be a host of top European clubs after him). I’m sure Teta is a fan though as we’ve been linked heavily with Guehi for numerous years, so will be interesting to see if he’s tempted to put us in the mix.

I don’t know about anyone else but personally, I feel this is too good of an opportunity to not at least try as he’s certainly one of the best CB in the PL. He’d easily go for 50-60m if he had years on his deal since he’s 25, English and barely missed any game like Declan Rice before we signed him.

Yeah I thought Guehi was a good shout but he’s just never making it past Saliba where as he’s a nailed on starter everywhere else so be very surprised if he’d join. We did table an offer for Huejsen though so it’s clear we wanted that sort of strength.

Wasn’t it reported by Ornstein we wanted Guehi last summer but his price made us move to Mosq?

IIRC we’ve been linked with him for the past 2-3 years, so I’m sure Arteta is a massive fan. I think what helps is his main position is at LCB for Palace which is where he always plays, he’s very much comfortable on that side so I wouldn’t even say he’d be gunning for Saliba’s position. Would be more so to keep Gabriel fit and healthy as he’s 28 + he’s had the same issues the past two seasons.

Yeah thats fair. Only just turned 25 too, so still pretty young and probably allows us to move Saliba on for a fat fee if it ever comes to it.

I just see it being very unlikely with the options he’ll have that he chooses us.

Arsenal Quotes

I knew we were very different, that he (Ferguson) had a total hold over his club while at that time I was still more of a coach. I also recognised his huge qualities. He knew how to surround himself with the right people and didn't rest on his laurels when he was successful.
