The Wish List

A few years ago people wouldn't have wanted Schweinsteiger for £4M. Now that he's moved into the center, hes on everyone's wishlist.

He wasn't anywhere near as good a player when he played out wide, so it's understandable.

Fábio Coentrão is excellent. some of his balls in would make chamakh happy

Juventus, Real Madrid and especially Bayern Munich are all interested in him.

Doesn't he play in midfield for Benfica?

Should we open up a "Weak Transfer Link" thread with all the vague links in it that don't quite deserve its own thread? Or is that pointless?

Yep. I'd be shocked if he doesn't end up at Real or Barca considering both sides could do with a left back.

Real already have a "marauding Brazilian leftback" in Marcelo, plus Drenthe.

It's better not to post those links at all. We should just ban caughtoffside and Metro from the site.

Apparently they are in the market though. Neither of those players have really nailed down the position.

They were strongly linked with Kolarov and yes they are in the market. Marcelo was abysmal at left back last year and at one point Drenthe was booed by his own fans in the Bernabeo.

With Hodgson leaving Fulham and Kos nearly signed we should renew our interest in Hangeland.

Dules, is that the World Cup impulse buy wish list? I wouldn't want Ireland anywhere near my dream XI. Plus that team looks far too inexperienced. Only Cole, Cahill, and Mertesacker have relevant experience. The rest are a bunch of promising youngsters.
