Most of his goals are tap-ins or headers from close range. Never seen Walcott give a great long shot goal in a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooon time.

That's every striker.

He's really good at stuff like this:

If you surround him with people that are secure with the ball and give him time to attack the channels, he can be deadly. I kept saying last season that if you put Walcott into Vardy's role at Leicester last season he could've easily equaled Vardy's goal tally.

He's **** if you give him the ball and ask him to do too much with it. He's absolutely lethal 1vs1 against the keeper, he just needs to get there.

I am referring to goals from long shots.

No point talking about ifs...he still has not done what Vardy did.

Vardy can shoot from far.

Vardy can dive and win penalties. Walcott is too nice a guy.

Vardy is aggressive and decisive. Walcott is hesitant and shy away from danger (last season). This season, Walcott has improved a little. Finally after 10+ years!

? His best season was 12/13 where he was your top scorer and was in with a shout for your POTY.

Regarding long shots; who scores a lot of long shots for Arsenal? Players seemingly get shouted down by Wenger if they fancy too many shots. Xhaka has a rocket left foot but even he hesitates now. I remember El Neny being told to cut that **** out as well when he joined, even though he scored a beauty against Barca.

Wenger doesn't like long shots. You barely attempt any. Faulting him for not scoring them is thus a bit harsh.

Getting criticised for not diving to win penalties like Vardy. Is this real life?

Surely any right minded manager would encourage something like a 10% ratio of long shots. Without any variation, the opposition know exactly what to expect.

But long shots has a low conversation rate, they look fancy, but they are pretty ineffective most of the time. That's why Wenger doesn't encourage that, Elneny said it in an interview.
This is just another reason to despair with Wenger. It may look fancy and not come off but it gets bums off seats and helps create a positive atmosphere.

Wenger has said it in the past football is 11 vs 11 doesn't matter if it's home or away it's the same. Its not. The crowd can influence the momentum of games.

Encourage shooting. Encourage tough tackling and Messi like dribbling. Anything that excites the fans rubs off on players.

And as above it varies the play. Defenders rushing to block shots creates space to play into.

New name pending...
Just read on another message board that Theo has earned £60 mil. I don't know if it's true or not, probably. This kind of thing puts me off football, not because it's Theo, it's just obscene the wages they get and I sometimes wonder why I get all hot and bothered over watching a bunch of millionaires who don't give flying whotsit about the fans and are on a different planet. I don't mind them earning money, but they earn more than they know what to do with.
