They are called Referees and they are TERRIBLE

Do you think refs consciously treat Arsenal differently than other teams?

PGMOL didn't even admit the mistake of Oliver with the MLS sending off vs Wolves last season if I'm not mistaken. The red card was rescinded by appeal to an independent FA panel which was embarrassing for Webb and his cronies.

The lack of accountability is what drives me insane.
Yeh all they did was play the victim card about the abuse Oliver got online. Everyone involved in football gets this and will get it, it’s not right but it’s what happens. So it’s a very crafty and easy get out to point towards it and avoid accountability.

Oh please he 100% deserved the abuse. I'd punch him if I saw him & wouldn’t really regret it. He already has condos in abu dhabi from the city arab money, he can tolerate some words on social media

Agreed, same reason I didn't have sympathy with Cashley when he said he didn't ask to be a role model or CR7s cringe "I'm a slave in Manchester" stuff, if they don't want to take the rough with the smooth (and working at the top end of football has a LOT of smooth, even for referees) go and do something else.

Webb makes his own rules and interpretations up so he doesn't have to follow current tripe the organisation he's currently running has.

The guy is the biggest FRAUD there's ever been, even when he was actively still refereeing, whenever you saw him in charge of a Fergie united game, you turn off.

One rule for Arsenal, another for everyone else.

Like Arteta said, guaranteed you you won't see any other club be given that red card.

And we have at least 4 red cards that was never seen again. All made up rules

I think of this incident every time I hear Fofana's name.

The smirk on his face says "I can get away with doing what I want to you because you play for Arsenal and so the referee will allow it"

Makes me so angry

How is this bald **** allowed to keep gaslighting. I bet he was a bent copper as well.

Honestly there is a very big number of Arsenal fans who thought the Saliba incident last season shouldn't be a penalty but now claim that the Gyokeres one is a penalty. They're falling on the opposite side of the same contradiction. For me either both are penalities or neither are, and I'm on the side that neither should be penalties. For me as long you get the ball first anything that comes after is an accidental follow through, I like some side of physicality in the game to remain still.

The issue is that *consistently* things are called one way for the rest of the league and a different way for Arsenal.

If they want to call the Saliba thing a penalty and hold Liverpool and United and City to the same standard, great! But they don’t.

And again, I don’t think in the big picture that the Gyokeres thing should be a penalty. But that’s the way it’s been called against us for the last 30 years be the Manchester Reffing Cabal so I don’t think it’s unfair to demand the same when it should go in our favour.

There is a very big simularity in those but also a big difference. Lets break it down.

Saliba
Touch of deflected ball on you
Going in with some speed
Trying to play the ball jumping and with the head

Pope
Slightly deflected touch of ball on you
Going in with some speed
Trying to play the ball with grounded and with the feets

So both going in with some speed and trying and succeding in various degree to play the ball althought fortunate in both cases. Thats the same.

The altering factor is the way they try to compete for the ball. You always get more lenience when you jump and play with the head. To the degree where i never have seen a simular penalty. In fact most goalies come away with punching players in the face in simular circumstances. 1-99 situation this just never get given.

The other way around there is more of a grey area, some argue for a touch always but most ignore the insignificant touch and give the penalty. I would say that’s an 80-20 situation for me.

So to conclude you can argue for the pope one, althought the consensus seems to be penalty which makes it a no go for clear and obvious.

Then the way of playing the ball from Salibas side and there is a touch it get taken away, but you can give them some slack becouse of the rarity of simular situations.

But as webb to explain that both of this are correct then you just need to freely qoute hacketts comment about pope.

”Morcambe and Wise come to mind. What abject nonsense. He is making himself look a fool.”

Edit: found the correct qoute

Michael Owen (especially in his little suit lol) looks like a child in that vid next to Webb 😅

What a load of bollocks those refs shows are, equally as pointless and terrible...no idea why people watch them.

It really feels like they’re now entitled to disallow any goal we score, find some made up excuse and gaslight everybody into accepting it.

Something needs to change and it’s urgent

Arsenal Quotes

Robert Pirès was a fabulous player, world-class, and for a few years, before his injury, he was unquestionably the best left-midfielder in the world by far. He had incredible technique, he was smart, a finisher. He was a killer with a smile, the gentlest man in the world who suddenly drive the ball exactly where it was needed.
