They are called Referees and they are TERRIBLE

Do you think refs consciously treat Arsenal differently than other teams?

Agree I'm very surprised we didn't get penalized for it

If I had to guess, the PL knows we are suffering at the moment and doesn't want to spoil the tension

If City went clear of us today, we aren't coming back ... and I think they know that
If this is true it is disgraceful

Referees are supposed to be impartial are they not?

I recently watched an interview of a shamed ex referee from the NBA

Who described in detail how the league gave instructions to the referees to favor certain teams in certain situations to increase dramatic effect

And how certain referees were better at this than others, so they got the most important matches

To the extent that situation also exists in the PL, it would explain a lot

We're really got lucky with Saliba incident. 100% penalty.

Anyway apart from this penalty, I think the referees we got recently were very fair, specially those that are a bit new to the league. Maybe if EPL get rid of the old guys, we get better performance?

I would say that the penalty is a 50/50 you see them given but you also see them not. The diving antics from everton i think tilted it in our favour.

I remember oliver when he came up he was a breath of fresh air. A couple of years down the line he’s the worst so I wouldn’t hold me breath on it.

It wasn't 100%.
You see them given but you also see them not.
O'Brien pushed Gyokeres to the ground in 22nd minute, denying him goal opportunity.
Contyct wasn't strong enough for penalty.
Same logic for Saliba incident.

I can't believe they didn't give the gyo one at 1st half
When I first saw it, I was right there with you. Upon replay though, I think it could have been given, but I don't think there was enough in it to be a 100% lock. Would have been nice, but it is what it is.

It's probably a "modern penalty", but morally it's absolutely not a penalty from Saliba.

People joke about the "utter woke nonsense" of the modern game, when comparing it to the better old days... but sometimes people are absolutely spot on to mock current football for being dumb.

He didn't skin Saliba and get tackled, he didn't get past Saliba and get his shirt pulled...man kicked the ball directly up in the air a split second before Saliba did, to no benefit of his team, then got a slight kick on the foot...no way should that be a penalty in proper football, it makes no sense... it should be a contact sport ffs!

Right decision, imo.

I'm guessing the delaying of the restart rule is no longer a card offense? I mean it was this exact same fixture last season that a referee thought it wise to give a full second yellow card for toe poking the ball, citing the letter of the law.

Now the opposition team commits the same offense by a bigger margin (kicking the ball farther away to delay the restart) and this other referee denied giving a first yellow card. I thought the letter of the law means the decision isn't open to interpretation, and so shouldn't be a problem being applied irrespective of whoever is refereeing.

Tell me there's no obvious agenda by PGMOL against us. Nothing could be so blatant. And some will shout incompetence. Incompetence my arse.

They did it once more to Trossard vs. City and then they felt it was too much, so never gave it again. ****ing ****s.

Last year's PL games were full of those incidents. They hardly ever gave it.

Its so strange to me the difference in energy for Jesus pen claim and then the claim against us regarding Saliba.

This forum was desperate for Saliba one to be a pen even if it was beyond obvious it was not then almost zero sound about the obvious pen claim for Jesus.

Very sus.

The same Anthony Taylor who gave us something like five yellow cards in the first 20 mins v Chelsea this season and didn't want to send Caicedo off. Good luck guys!
