They are called Referees and they are TERRIBLE

Do you think refs consciously treat Arsenal differently than other teams?

This ref was very clear with that last foul vs zubimendi today vs Leverkusen. Holding/blocking the defender just before the header was saved in the 90th minute. The type of foul than in the past would’ve never been called. But until the media frenzy about corner tactics. It’ll be interesting to see if they treat defensive fouls the same as offensive fouls. But corners are going to be closely policed in the conclusion of this champion’s league, at least against Arsenal.
It was quite obvious for the first goal that they didn’t

I agree that it wouldn’t happen to Pep. It is a sending off offense though. Under the sending off section for team officials in Rule 12:

“ entering the field of play to:
confront a match official (including at half-time and full-time)”

So no matter how pretty he looks when he jogs. Even if his story about confronting a match official about adding time… it’s a sending off offense.
Let’s not do this where we hide behind the ‘rules of the game’. Managers all the time go and speak to referees at the end of the game and get yellow cards at best unless they are abusive.

Ultimately football is not reffed completely to the rules of the game or there would be way more penalties from holding opponents on corners, sending offs, or indirect free kicks in the box for the GK holding the ball for more than 6 seconds.

The media tried to gaslight us with “it’s in the rules of the game” when we got all those ridiculous red cards that no other team would have gotten last season. So forgive me for not subscribing to that.

I know, it’s so annoying. But it just feels like there is no arguing it when they’re given that power. Do we argue when they don’t apply it or when they do? They flourish in this grey area they’ve created. But there is no holding them accountable. Not sure the solution. Whether it’s holding to letter of the law all the time or rewriting to express the flexibility.

Someone recently brought this up arguing RVPs second yellow in the CL (against a prominent social media ref). Technically he did hit the ball after the whistle… but was he delaying game? He absolutely wasn’t, but the ref has to make a judgment that he clearly wasn’t capable of making…. Yet we still trust them to make judgments of when to apply the letter of the law and when to not… and they can justify their decision without impunity despite the clear implication injustice.

Today penalty decision was extremely embarrassing.

I didn't look at reply because was focusing on game but after the game I saw it again with better quality and I freaking saw Keane stamp into havertz foot.

How Var missed this?

First I was not gonna complain about the Havertz penalty claim even if I felt it was 100% penalty. But the more you see replays its shame that both VAR and referee miss it.

He was then giving Everton a lot obviously refereeing against us.

Former Sp**s Captain Jamie Redknapp incensed on our behalf - shows what a ****ing shambles the PGMOL are. And bent. For 25 years now

either they missed and was looking at someone else or they ignore it but if they took only less than 5 seconds then imo they missed and this is even worse lmao.

It's insane how he's either incompetent, corrupt or just biased. You cannot look at that from multiple angles and say that what the defender does is within the laws of the game. It's a clear and obvious error which any qualified referee should identify and inform the on-pitch referee.

Brighton should have been awarded a penalty in their 1-0 loss at home to Arsenal on 4 March, the Premier League's Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel has said.

It is the second time this season Arsenal have wrongly escaped a VAR penalty in a game they have won by one goal.
In December, Everton should have been awarded a penalty for William Saliba's challenge on Thierno Barry. The VAR was Michael Salisbury for that match, too.

Earlier this month the KMI Panel unanimously voted that Chelsea should have been awarded a penalty against the Gunners for handball by Declan Rice.

The Gunners have had no VAR mistakes against them.

That last line... How tf did they come to that conclusion?
They pick out a few situations that get media attention, just to make it look like they're working to improve.

I've got the best goalkeeper and the best centre half. All I need are the best wingers and the best forward. It doesnt matter what the rest are like.
