They are called Referees

Do you think refs consciously treat Arsenal differently than other teams?

Doesn't matter if it's corruption or ineptitude really at the end of the day neither is acceptable.

... don't even know why I bother watching, tbh 😭

There's no ref out to get any particular club. They're just that incompetent. I think we just have to accept that now. It's not like these awful decisions just go against us.

In a way the incompetence is worse than if the refs were cheating.

Neville getting annoyed by camera angles cracks me up. Of all the things to be annoyed about with these decisions it's not the ****ing camera angles. Every dodgy offside decision has been because the refs in charge of it have been incompetent.

So apparently both Darren England and Dan Cook joined Michael Oliver in refereeing a match in the UAE on Thursday. Howard Webb gave permission for them to do it. Most of the articles are talking about fatigue but I personally don't know how going to a place run by City's owners and being paid by them isn't a conflict of interest.

VAR officials who made Liverpool error took charge of UAE match just 48 hours before

Glad I avoided that Sp**s game last night, would've wound me right up. How can they still be making such an arse of VAR 4 years down the road?
I watched it and it wound me up. Lol. You could see it was onside in real time. And the sending off where the foot rolled over the ball was just as crazy. It was nasty but just an accident, no intent and not reckless, clearly going for the ball.

Haven't see the sending off but no surprise it went their way. It will be amusing as ever when they collapse but they're not half getting a lot of luck.

Not hugely surprising. A City player literally jumped over the ball the other week and was deemed not to have impacted the play.

It does seem madness that as soon as play has restarted they can't go back, it won't be at all what the intent behind that rule is.

Players do have some blame here, you only have to listen to the any of the released audio to see what a nuisance they are. Trying to have a discussion with the VARs and it's like being surrounded by a bunch of mindless 5 year olds.

Sky are trying to get PGMOL involved in their broadcast somehow, so they are kinda pulling their punches with the criticism. Or using kid gloves as @Riou says I love to say.

Their coverage of it and how they glossed over the Liverpool error was quite obvious.

Credit to Liverpool who haven't accepted PGMOL apology stating that they fo mot accept the explanation and promising an escalation to get the matter resolved.
Along with Saudi wanting to poach PL refs, surely this is the best time to get foreign refs in. If most the PL clubs play it right, there's a real chance to do away with Webb and minions.

If it was incompetence they all would have been fired before now. There are nefarious reasons for these 'mistakes'.

The whole point of cheating is to not get caught doing it. No-one would do something so obvious and under the microscope as using VAR to cheat.

They're just really crap at their jobs.

When they realised the mistake they wanted to stop the game. But once it’s restarted they couldn’t under the current rules. Might take a few years to iron out VAR, it’s relatively new. Worse mistakes than this were made before VAR. Remember when they sent Gibbs off instead of Ox. Lol.

After the farce of the late Saturday game I completely forgot that VAR had made two very poor decisions in the early kick off game for Villa’s 2nd and 3rd goals in my opinion too.
