They are called Referees

Are you for VAR or not?

If Arsenal played better then the ref or VAR isn’t discussed.

I really hate this comment and it is a total idotic nonsense. Or what you would say in statistic 2 unrelated matters.

Or is your idea that we deserve to lose when we play bad so best the referee help us there? Or what’s your point

Is it not better better then that the referees dont keep score they just do a point system afterwards or better yet just look at the teams and decide so we don’t have to play the game at all….

Basically they just didn't have best of angles and stick with Atwell decision on field. Also why they stop it when Willock touched the ball the ball was few more inches out before willock touch it

Yep.

But there was a narrative and ambition right when they started the checks to stick with the on field decision because they were all terrified of that inbred crowd.

Pretend they can’t tell the ball was in or out even tho it looks clearly out from all available angles. Claiming two hands on Gabriels head is nothing even tho it’s clear as day from all available footage it’s a clear foul that takes the defender out of play.

Why does Sky have a program where you get the head of the refs doing punditry? That's frankly ridiculous.

Secondly, this is what they held on to for two weeks? This sort of thing needs to be released the next day.

This would've probably done better than calling Neville and telling him to run defense for the refs or he would be out of a job.

I can live with the call and them checking everything, my problem is not giving the foul on Gabriel one weekend and awarding it to another team the following matchday.
Allows them to use their allies to curate the landscape and to be selective in what they show vis a vis camera angles etc

It’s all just a clear agenda against Arsenal. They are doubling down now even further after Arteta’s comments in the press.

If Arteta hadn’t come out with those comments, I’m willing to wager that they would have admitted that VAR ****ed up.
Nah. They only admit to mistakes when Sky pressure them to. Its all a circus

Corrupt.

Waved away the Gabriel foul while looking at angles from the stands instead of using the close ups that they used for the potential offside.
This is the most disturbing element. How can VAR have worse angles for several of the elements of the incident than every numpty on twitter does within about 5 minutes.

There's the human incompetence, but there is also evidence to suggest they are using tools unfit for purpose. Crap camera angles, no line tech, can't check the offside...despite being the richest and most televised sporting league on the planet. Also, why do they never struggle to have the angles at our home games? Surely there needs to be standardisation.

It's so the Arsenal supporters that suffer under the Battered Women Syndrome have something to justify and accept their decades long abuse with. Looks like it is working for some A-M posters. Sad and pathetic if you ask me...

It was and still is impossible to know if it was 100% out. It doesnt matter when they stop it.

Richest league in the world and they can't get the cameras right.

Either way as was said several times the foul not being called is the issue not the ball being out or not.

I like Arseblog's imaginary VAR dialogue on the blow to Jorginho's head:

I can imagine the audio:

VAR1: “Mate, has he hit him in the head there?”

VAR2: “Yeah, Madser, he’s definitely hit him.”

VAR1: “Thanks Tugger. Should we tell Stu-pot to stop the game?”

VAR2: “Nah buddy, the crowd are already very angry. They might get more angry with him.”

REF: “Something on going on there my cheeky-chaps?”

VAR1: “Don’t worry Attser, we’ve got it.”

VAR2: “Let’s say it was his forearm and not an elbow!”

VAR1: “Is that in the rules?”

VAR2: *throws rulebook in bin* – “I don’t see anything there, cocker!”

VAR1: “LOL”

VAR2: “LMFAO”

VAR1: “ROFL”

REF: “Geezahs?! WASSSUUUPPPPPP?”

VAR1: “Play on. Nothing for you to worry about.”

VAR2: “The job’s Oxo, S-Dog!”

REF: “Swish. We can chat more about this later when the Three Amigos hit the town after!”

VAR1 & VAR2 [together]: “One for all and all for one!”

*pause*

VAR Tech [barely audible]: “That’s the three Musketeers, you ****.”

I cannot understand how violent conduct like this has been overlooked and paid lip service to by Webb, the man who is literally in charge of refereeing standards. Saying he’d expect a red card in the future doesn’t excuse his officials for what was a dereliction of duty on the night. Hitting somebody in the head on purpose, regardless of which bit of the arm it was, is a red card – there can be no excuses for missing something as obvious as that. And for the head of PGMOL to pay is short shrift like this is unacceptable. It’s an exercise in self-protection, with no real acknowledgement that he’s ignoring his main remit in this position.
