Hol' up since when has Xhaka been so highly rated?

Thiago-Partey-Xhaka being classed as best in the league.. o_O

I'm not sure he is highly rated, but,

He is our best midfielder. Mikel likes him. We aren't bringing a completely new midfield in one window.

ESPN reporting that Liverpool won't pursue Thiago, and Falk - the Bayern journalist - guesses that Thiago will leave this summer. I'd still be very surprised if he ended up here obviously, but at the same time it's the sort of deal Raul specialises at. Part of me wouldn't be too surprised if Coutinho somehow ended up here tbh.

TBF, if Barça takes up the majority of his wages, Countinho, Thiago and Partey takes us up a good notch.

I think Coutinho and Thiago take us up a notch or two, I still don't know if Partey does. But apparently that's heresy these days.

The theory is that Partey can probably add tenacity and speed to our midfield, something we sorely lack.

That alone gives us much more needed width, since the fullbacks might be able to push up more often.

Through Raul and Arteta we already have a lot connections to Barcelona, so I wouldn't be surprised if they already have a good relationship with Thiago's people.

Also, Thiago will probably want a coach whose philosophy aligns with his style of play. Klopp is definitely one of those coaches, but so is Arteta. Thiago left Barca for Bayern because Pep insisted on signing him, so I could see Thiago wanting to play with Pep's protege who is also a product of La Masia.

Thiago is 29 and at this stage in his career he's going to need a coach that knows how to use him properly, and Arteta definitely would.

Signing Partey and Thiago while keeping Ceballos and selling Douzi would be great business. Also, I still hope that Cazorla is at Arsenal in some capacity next season.

Surprised Barce are not linked.

Just seems odd to drop down to a top six battle here & risk a rookie manager when 29 with his cv. Why?
