We were Yuv , and he was lucky to have a coach with the foresight to turn him into a striker.

@Masterdon - Now his base is in London, he'll no doubt be popping up to Colney on a regular to knock about and coach for nothing! Pires is always there giving his tuppence worth. It's a place Bobby and Thierry can't stay away from.

Having guys like Henry in the team made me want to watch Arsenal play against the very best in the world because I knew he was good enough to take on anyone. The goal against Real always comes to mind. He's probably my favourite player of all time and the main reason I really got glued to football.

Pretty gutted he's not a coaching role, I wonder why

Gilberto has been offered a role <a class="postlink" href="http://news.arseblog.com/2014/12/gilberto-reveals-arsenal-offer-but-hopes-to-play-on/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://news.arseblog.com/2014/12/gilber ... o-play-on/</a>

As Jury says he'll be at Colney anyways half the time . Henry probably doesn't have the patience with lesser mortals to be a full time coach .

The King. Best player to ever grace the PL. Looking forward to seeing him on Sky Sports, intelligent, humorous man. Happy retirement to the greatest ever.

Jesus, he's gone balls-deep in the Sky corporation. Sky Sports ambassador next year as well  He must be beating off job offers with a ****ing stick!

He does have to do his badges first so there is that.

I credit Wrighty with getting me into the game, but Henry made me love the game. It wasn't just his athleticism, skill and swagger, but it was his brain that made him so amazing in my opinion. He's one of the most clever and inventive players I've ever had the pleasure of watching. A shift into coaching is inevitable.

A tribute to one of the greatest players of all time!

True legend. Took him for granted really when he played for us, seeing him score ridiculous goals became the norm. Didn't realise how great he was until he left.

What the Sky boys have to say

League is very weak
Like others have said, I took it for granted back then - We had Wright, then Bergkamp, then Anelka, now we have Henry, there will be someone after him, won't there? Scoring great goals every week, winning us games on his own.

As the years go by, I think his legend grows, we were looking at the most unique of players and characters - his style of play, WC consisentcy and love for the club is something we might not see again for a very long time.

Pundit role is no surprise, allows him to take a break from the game in terms of daily duties but still remain prominent.

You wonder if we'll ever see him at Arsenal, in any role, especially if Wenger leaves in 2 years.

Former players speak about the atmosphere created by Wenger and the way he works, which allows them to come back and feel at home, surely that changes when a new man comes in? Thus maybe changing the relationship of people like Henry to that new regime lead Arsenal.

Only player to score 20 plus, 5 seasons in a row. Most assists, 20, in 02/03. Best minutes per goal ratio for players who've scored 100 plus goals.
