Him replacing Jorginho over the next 2 years wouldn't be the worst. Should be paid what he's paid now to do that though.

Still think he might let us down this season at an important moment (maybe he already did by being suspended)

The thing is, injuries and the off field issues aside. On his day there isn't a better midfielder than him out there, but the problem is when do we get those performances? The best games (on top of my head) he played were probably the Madrid ties. If rumours are true then a 1+1 deal with lower wages really isn't too bad (assuming Zubi comes in too)

One of the hardest parts in football is knowing when to let a player go. No one can ever really know how a player will perform the next season.

My thought process:

Has Partey been great this season? Yes

Will he be great next season? Who knows.

Is he injury prone? Before this season, yes.

If we sign him will it be on lower wages? Unlikely

If we resign him can we also afford Zubimendi or his replacement? Will they be happy sitting on the bench for two years? Can we afford to have Partey sit on the bench for two years? Maybe.

What if Partey gets injured, we don't sign a backup or future replacement? We're screwed.

I think letting him go and bringing in Zubimendi is a lower risk due to the age of everyone involved. I'd prefer keeping Jorginho on low wages.

Jorginho is finished having Partey rotating with Zubi for example is a much better way to go.

Although Partey has improved in his absolutely dross standard in previous seasons, we still need to upgrade on him. The players who have produced the most poor performances in our first 11 this season have been Partey, Raya and Martinelli and we should look to upgrade in these positions (although I would be happy to have Martinelli as back up LW).
what nonsense is this? Partey is Player of the season so far.

He was player of the season 2 seasons ago until he got injured towards the end of the season.

He has no dross standards

Don't try rewrite history, he has dropped loads of stinker performances this season. With most people putting him down as "drunk" and being let of from criticism.

No way has Partey been anyway near as consistently good as Gabriel, Rice, Saka, Timber, Saliba and MLS.

Two seasons ago our best player? You've got be joking? When Ramsdale, Saliba, White, Martinelli Saka and Ødegaard were all consistently very good in a season where we first challenged City for the title. Ødegaard, Saka , Saliba and Ramsdale all made the PFA team of the year. Partey was worst player each season prior to this.

Saka has pretty much been our player of the season every year Partey has been here lol, he's not been crap as a player his whole time here but he hasn't been great/consistent either.

This has been his only real chance to win that award this season, but I would still have Gabriel and Timber ahead of him anyway.

Maybe he doesn't rotate because he doesn't trust the quality of his backups, though.

Starting Sterling at any point though, makes me believe that Arteta may need an adult minder at all times going forward.

Innocentey until proven guiltey. I’m satisfied that the club has done its due diligence over this issue and unlike the court of public opinion, which is full of horrible people who will judge serious issues based on snippets of information, has actually reviewed the evidence and realized that there is nothing conclusive there. The only concern should be over whether he can stay fit.

Kiwior and Tierney are showing that his lack of trust is unwarranted.
Yeah but even without rotation we’re screwed if there’s injuries/suspension.

If we want to win titles then it has to be like this.

If we want to win titles, our starters need to be able to start 30+ games. Anyone remember the Premier League seasons where Chelsea won the league while Terry, Lampard and Drogba missed most of the season? Me either.

What about United losing Ronaldo, Ferdinand and Vidic for 26 games but still getting over the line.

The best quality in football is availability.

Yeah, and that bloke at the BBC who wore dodgy tracksuits didn't do anything wrong either.

Arsenal Quotes

In June 1996, David Dein, Peter Hill-Wood and Danny Fiszman came out to Nagoya to meet me on behalf of Arsenal. Within an hour we came to an agreement. The Japanese directors didn't try to keep hold of me in the usual way but talked with persuasive arguments... But as far as I was concerned, the decision was taken. Arsenal. A decision that would change my life.
