Partey's shooting this season...

"This time" (Thomas thinks to himself, after his 73rd shot flies aimlessly over the bar)

Can't wait until he gets one in the top corner though

You feel there is a another level he can reach, but he probably won't reach it until next season...but even what he has already shown us, massive player in our midfield in both attack and defense...should be played next to a more defensive partner though, as I feel he deserves more freedom...so Xhaka may yet live for another year!

Nah this is pretty much par for the course with him.

He’d be good for a banger or two a year but he would smash a long shot or two into the atmosphere most games.
I still can't believe we actually took this man from you guys.

In general he shows so much quality. Have to put his sloppyness down to lack of rythm, injuries and general adjustment.

When he clicks it's a joy to watch. He is quick in transition, able to combine in tight spaces and progresses our play with balls between the lines.

I'll forgive him firing it into row Z a couple times. It's not like he's denying Auba a 1v1 or anything.

I actually think Xhaka, Partey and Ødegaard are very complementary. Hope we keep the latter and upgrade on the former next couple windows.

Thought he was great in the second half. He was being asked to play a more prominent role to the one he played in Spain, in a different league and in a season constantly interrupted by injuries, and I thought he was superb. His shooting? Well Henry used to worry more about hitting the Highbury clock than the back of the net from distance, so it's all to look forward to.

I love how effortless his little bursts out of trouble are. He makes things look so easy.

He was pretty good today, although I cannot forgive him for following Xhaka's example and strolling back with his back turned on that free kick.

Following the crowd. It was a weird one. One of those situations where everyone feeds off the body language of others and does **** all. The biggest factor was probably all the work they did in training on getting organised for West Hams set pieces, and thought they were going to take their time to execute something on us, but they took a quick instead and caught us out. Still unacceptable though.

He was crap in the first half but I think he saved himself from embarrassment in the second half. A lot of his passes were penetrative and he found Ødegaard several times in the half space. Remember how we struggled to get the ball up the pitch during that torrid October-November run? I would like to see him operate as a lone 6 in the near future. Might need some practice and a preseason but I think Partey can break lines with such ease it’s probably better to give him more options ahead than a Xhaka or Elneny beside him.

That's a great counter argument that Partey is not struggling with us for form and playing poorly.

Seriously some people get so invested and agenda filled with certian players that they lose all rationality. So strange.

Nope, zero agenda on Partey, I haven't even commented on him much this season since he's been injured. I said his best games have come at OT and vs Wolves away in the first half. I am laughing at the mere fact you said he was rubbish today.

Add to that he had a 91% pass rate and a huge amount of them bypassed West Hams midfield and started our attacks.

To say he was rubbish today is silly, had we had an Elneny or Ceballos in there we don't drag that back and they wouldn't of stopped us going 3-0 down either, that was on the team.

I am not invested in this player whatsoever, just pointing out people need to watch the game rather than picking out the parts he shot over the bar or miss placed a few passes.

Just have him play right back and Mitch will fall for him all over again!

Still think him and el neny are our strongest midfield partnership. We'd become more press resistant. Also if will allow partey to get more involved further up the pitch. Also el neny's workrate is underrated, man's like Duracell battery.

Yeah some of the interchange he had in that triangle with Chambers and Ødegaard was beautiful to watch.

It was helped by Benrahma being a lazy c*nt as usual and not tracking back and Cresswell not having the legs to get out but Partey and MØ give you a Champions League level midfield with how they can turn, keep the ball and play forwards.

Ran the game back.

1. Partey was man of the match

His best game since ManU. I actually think his performance was better than his ManU performance. It was a complete performance. He was involved in almost everything and owned the center of the pitch.

Doubt me? Run it back.

This I really like about his game and what I hate about Xhaka. Partey can receive the ball in a tight space under a bit of pressure and actually pass forward. It gives us some much needed tempo.

Are you annoyed that Cedric and Chambers have been playing well for us?

I was just joking, but...

Not at all, in fact, I was very complementary of both lately and have been critical of Hector and am on record saying I wish Arteta stopped playing him if he’s starting Pepe. The only thing I have against Cedric is his wages in relation to his squad role and the fact that his deal - like Willian’s - is the sort of thing the club should be moving away from having just gotten rid of a bunch of overpaid personal last window.

Here’s the thing Mitchy boy, I just don’t go overboard with it [criticismn agains Hector] because I don’t have an agenda against Bellerin like you do 🤷‍♂️ and don’t use what he chooses to do with his free time away from football as a tool to bash him with (and being serious about it, not in a joking manner) while inferring that “rEaL PlAYeRs” don’t do that.

The only players I sorta have an agenda with is Pepe, being a patron of @Lady_Gooner’s Pepe Nutmeg Tavern and David Luiz.

And, again, unlike you I am capable of criticizing the former and praising the latter without any sort of backhanded compliment because I can actually put the agenda aside for five minutes.

So, yeah. Cheerio.

I have no problem with Bellerin's polictical and socialist views (in fact I argee with most of them). However I do believe he should be concentrating and puting his football first and working on his game and improvements over his modelling, social media and own branding.

As I've stated for a long while i believe Chambers and Cedric are more talented than Bellerin and I believe the three players peformances have vindicated this.

I watched this man put in absolutely unbelievable performances over two legs vs an unstoppable Liverpool last season, believe me if there's a problem it's not on Partey it's our inability to use his skillset in the most effective way possible. There's still a part of me that thinks playing both Xhaka and Partey is a bit counter-productive but they've worked well together in some games.
