Shocking game on Thursday. Passing was all over the place. Seems to be deteriorating.

Feel sorry for him and the rest of the players at the moment, a number of them have hit poor form, squandering passes and opportunities in front of goal. They are not performing for Arteta.

As many other posters have stated lets hope Thurs was a one off or a once in a blue moon type of thing. Would actually like to see him much higher up the pitch nicking the ball and utilising his excellent passing range (when his radar is working). This is technically known as the 'Torreria under Emery' role ;)

Finally pulled off that pass, next up is the long distance goal

Really poor stuff today though, irrelevant for most of the match when even Ceballos was out there having fun and Laca had to run the entire length of the pitch multiple times to get the ball moving forward.

He was very good today. Probably the best player after Cellabos and Laca. Much better performance than his horror show on Thursday but I suspect he was told to simplify his game today. Also helps that Sheffield didn’t really press us so he had a lot of time on the ball.

I don’t know @mirrorstare problem is. Cellabos was good today because he had the freedom to do what he pleased but most importantly, Thomas was there to give us a solid foundation. It seems like some people hate the transfer so much that they over-index his bad performances because they don’t trust the club with big money transfers. Thomas has had injuries, no preseason, in a club that’s in turmoil, surrounded by crap and according to a journalist he only found a house last week. He’s not settled and even if he’s been poor at times, he’s clearly the best midfielder we have. Easily. Don’t let the Cellabos act fool you. He’s Real Betis level.

He had a good game. I think his injury has hit him but he's starting to push on physically. He does give the ball away but that's because he wants it and doesn't hide. His passes forward are incisive and quickly thought out and executed despite some interceptions. His assist to Laca after easily beating the press was delicious. When we get better players in midfield, he'll shine even more. He was basically alone I'm midfield today in front of a slow defence and he stood tall. Just stay fit now TP.

Thought about 6.5/10 today nothing too spectacular. Some lovely passes as always though.

About half way through the first half Saka gave the ball away, presenting Sheffield Utd with one of their best chances of the game. Needless to say someone in the match thread rebuked Partey for losing the ball. Says it all really.

Think the overall team setup helped today. He is a good player no doubt about it. His action in connection with the third goal was excellent. Beating the press, turning and the through pass.

Again, some of the stuff he was doing he makes look so easy. He makes it look so easy that people don’t notice it most of the time. Deserves better, more knowledgeable fans watching him.

Yep top posting yet again from you but I expect nothing less. Partey is honestly so good, he has these little touches, turns, dinked passes that he does constantly and it’s so impressive how much it helps. Just look at the trust Holding has in him for the Lacazette goal we don’t have many who can turn under the press like that. As you say only fans who know ball understand him.

What about the set up? He was basically by himself in midfield. He just played well. He is literally world class, just isn't consistent at the moment as he is playing catch up physically. I also think he just needs to simplify his game, but he tries to do so much as nobody actually plays forward as much as he does. His partner needs to be someone who eases the burden.
