"No reason to extend his contract".

The guy is showing Rice what a 6 should be doing, every 3 days now. Massive half against PSG.

Watch him getting rinsed the second half now:lol:

People quickly forgot how he was doing against Atalanta. I am not even against him as a player but I don't think this will last

Entire team was crap vs Atalanta. Partey was subbed in the 58th minute, didn't get any better.

If Mikel can find the correct types of games for Partey (and also Jorgi) to play while Merino gets up and running then Thomas has got a great role to play till about January.

Sorry but Partey is clear of Rice at 6. Midfield is Partey, Ode and Rice/Merino. Rice is a great backup at 6. Not quite sure who people(who want him sold) are wanting to replace him with bc from what I can tell very few players in the world have his playing style to cover spaces and protect the back 4, whilst breaking lines.

Another big injury this season would for me, put him in the bracket of perhaps getting rid on that basis alone ala Jesus.

I get that they play similar positions but Rice played well too today. Just glad to have options, especially while Ødegaard is out.

I think it’s something that’s very hard for people to accept that he is better than our 100 million 6. The moment he went off our midfield was struggling

I like Rice, but still feel him and Ben White were overpriced for their quality. Good players, but not irreplaceable in terms of what they bring to the table.

surprisingly solid. incisive passes, interceptions, and most importantly, no bozo moments like getting caught in possession.

Partey had a great game tonight. Absolutely mudded me. I still hate him but objectively he was solid.

But this “our midfield struggled as soon as he went off” is a crap correlation v causation take. We were happy with our lead and conceded the midfield well before Partey was subbed.

No when we got the ball our defenders had no 6 that offered them a pathway. This is Rice big weakness as 6. He doesn’t give his team mates an option a lot of the time. Big part of 6 is being a recycler and keeping the flow. Rice is too limited on the ball and we wil struggle with him

Again, I will repeat.

We had retreated and weren’t bothering playing through the middle the last few minutes when Partey was on the pitch. It’s how we manage games, you really should know that by now. We leave Havertz up to bring balls down and if something sticks then great otherwise meh.

It's easy to forget how good a player Partey was when at the top of his game. Rolled back the years tonight and produced a masterclass I thought was long gone.

Don't think he will be able to consistently produce this kind of performance but I will take whatever we can squeeze out of him for this season.

Arsenal Quotes

I was receiving offers from many other clubs and declining them all, even the most tempting ones. Juventus, Real Madrid, PSG contacted me, Bayern, France, England...I am happy to have been able to say no to more glory, more money, and to have been guided only by the idea of loyally serving the club. I had knitted myself a soul in Red and White.
