The FA will set us right by making Saka play 300 minutes across two games.
These bastards have no respect for their assets. Can’t believe they basically play Saka and Rice for 2 full 90s. I know they don’t get to see the players much but still, is it really necessary in some of those games that England play?

Partey is elite at missing games, I wouldn't be surprised if he manages to develop an actual long term illness from this and be out until the new year now 😅

Just don't allow him kicking gender reveal balls. He was out for 5 months after his party last year.
Or just stick the physio with him like he went to Ghana couple of times. This time 24/7 like a bodyguard in his day to day life.

Narratives is a funny thing. Uncle Thomas who everyone says legs are gone covered the second most distance so far.

When people talk about his legs I assume they’re talking about intensive recovery sprints, which is something else entirely…

Although I do admit this figure has surprised me, as has Uncle in general this season. I’ve always said at his peak he was one of the best 6s I’ve ever seen but I thought he was so far past it. He still worries me with his current lack of recovery pace but even at this level he contributes heavily to our overall game.

Not a fan of the fact they’re not doing per 90. It’s just overall, which can be slightly misleading. With how little we have played the season, If you play 1 more game then someone it’s enough to have more.

“his legs are gone” is such a basic criticism to level at him. He hasn’t shown any real signs of losing legs. He’s simply missed a lot of football and needed to get up to speed.

He’s been fantastic so far this season. Long may it continue.

I dunno man, I watched highlights of his performance vs Liverpool for Atletico in 2020, compare that to now and it's clear he's lost a yard or two. Obviously his role is slightly different here, but looking at the way he moved back then was incredible.

Also keeping Rodri out of the side at that time.

Partey used to be absolutely rapid, I think people have forgotten tbh.

He’s still not the slowest 6 in the league (or even our team) - it’s just about whether he can adapt his game to his new physical limitations. Be less aggressive to intercept, hold back a yard, use his reading of the game more etc.

And when we signed him the general consensus was that he was pretty much a box-to-box midfielder. Even look how Atletico operated at the time out of the CM's he was the one who got forward and did most of the running.

At his best for us I think he’s quite similar as a player to Vieira. Not as much class as Vieira on or off the ball but still a very rare type of midfielder with excellent technical and physical qualities.

Got to do what we can to keep him fit. He'll see out his contract here, and hopefully we can get some performances out of him before then.

For me Rice and Vieira is a closer comparison than Partey. Partey plays like a typical Spanish midfielder lowkey.
