Thomas Partey: Total Eclipse Of The Part-ey

No one could have predicted his poor injury record, because prior to joining he didn't have one. And at the start of the season everyone thought he'd be playing alongside Rice, which is why he wasn't sold.

Yeah, sure, sell him this summer, but stop talking **** about him. He is very, very good when fit.

When he's fit and on form he's fantastic, but he's rarely fit and half the time when fit he's drunk. Really not good enough.

We’re top tier at paying big wages for guys who don’t contribute much

You know what? Long after Partey is gone we will have another player on big wages who is perennially injured. That’s the gamble and it’s happening at every club constantly.

The players are not on zero hour contracts, when things go wrong on high value investments the club is obliged to stick by the player. The best player at Man City has missed half the season and only came on at 57 mins yesterday because they are so scared of him breaking down.

I'm not only talking about injuries. Willian, Auba, Laca, Pepe, Özil, etc. All big money earners who for long periods produced nothing. Probably more I'm not thinking about.

I don't think our injury record is much worse than other big clubs, but our "wasted cash" record seems higher.

I do think that Partey at least partially came here for the money and to live in London.

I rate him highly when fit but he does make you question how seriously he takes his football these days tbh.

When you've been earning this sort of money for years and you've been colossally comfortable for the majority of your adult life, how much of a motivator can the money still be? I wonder tbh. Its also a question for players who have won 5+ PLs or 3+ CLs or whatever, must become less special as you go on.

I don't understand this, seeing as the two reasons for his prolonged absence would be yellow box or genuine injury?

When ESR wasn't dong his best to stay fit Arteta was pretty blunt about it. More than once.

They’re saying he’s drinking/partying too much I think.

Arteta has overseen a mass cull of players with the attitude of Pepe, Özil, Auba and faced a lot of criticism for “not being able to handle the big players” but we all saw the benefits last season. I hope the days are not returning with Havertz!

I agree for many years back we have been some kind of mass retirement home for players. Last season I though it was at an end, I don’t think anyone could have predicted Partey would pan out this way.

League is very weak
AM told me he was back 3 weeks ago, yet we’re still going in circles.

He’ll be shipped out in the summer.

Never forget most of AM backed him btw.

Thigh injury

Had the same after a deadlift just before Christmas, could barely sleep lying down because of pain in my lower abs and right leg. Cried. Partied twice since then and snorted over 40 g of cocaine. I'm deadlifting more now than when I got injured. Zero surgeries or physical therapy bar some youtube videos I followed.

What is Partey excuse?

Never knew cocaine had such amazing healing powers.
