Thomas Partey: Total Eclipse Of The Part-ey

You can't blame Mikel playing him as RB we clearly don't have someone else can trust in this position also he played many times in his career as RB.

That why I saying Tomi is really becoming just useless because he never available. Hopefully white getting back soon and we'll never see Partey as RB ever again
I still think we lose too much of our progressive play when he's right back. We have a number of games now to look back on with him there and the results have often been below par. I'd rather risk one of our other defenders there and keep Partey in midfield especially in games when we know we are stronger than the opposition and need to win. Two games drawn are worse than a win and a loss. These draws are killing us.

The worrying bit is that we are still so reliant on him centrally. This guy is a top player still and that’s problematic for a number of reasons.

We may need to give up super spending on a CF and do smaller spends across the team. Including the role TP plays.

Think we need those star players to win at the top level. You are less likely to get by just raising our core which is largely what we have been doing. Hence why Rice for 100 million is a difficult one to know if its a good one or not despite really liking him.

Perhaps not at 100m, I could have that debate, but Rice is an integral part of our system no doubt. We don’t control games to the level we do without him.

The issue has been balance, and for all Rice’s progression and energy centrally, we still lack a complete answer to midblocks with him at the base of our midfield. And I think that forms the base of his criticism.

Without waffling on too long, I’ll say that for us to perform at our level during the second half of the season we need a Rice-TP5-Ødegaard midfield. It is the closest to complete we have right now.

I think Partey when fit he very best in his position in surprised by his fitness level this season even yesterday for 90 minutes he really done well but people shouldn't judge his performance as RB look at Brentford game he was really good.

Upcoming summer I'm sure Thomas and Jorginho will end up leaving we gonna have the opportunity to replace them but we have to replace them right we need different profiles in midfield we have 4 players with similar profile

I think with our first choice midfield we beat most teams, it's never an issue. This season Ødegaard has just been injured and not in his best form since coming back from injury which makes us look worse, he's that integral to how we play. I think the problem comes wiith the depth in midfield rather than the first choice.

Many are obviously very reluctant to praise him but he was excellent first half. Big part in the first goal. Sloppy after the break at times.

I swear you guys watch a different game to me sometimes. He was beaten for pace / lost his man a few times in the first half. Don’t get me started on the second.

People forget what the D in DM stands for sometimes I swear.

He needs a rest tbf.

Absolutely awful in the second half. Zubamendi can't get here quick enough.
