Guess Wenger wasn't into him after all. Oh well....

Not quite.

Sport.es are now reporting that Wenger has talked with his father and is ready to increase our offer. We're also ready to pull our **** (Law) out to speed up the paper work.
Thanks! That's good news. Is Sport.es reliable as far as you know?

Breaking: The Arsenal have made a counter offer to snap up Barca's Tonny Sanabria in the last hour, according to reports. #afc #fcblive

Update

Arsenal takes the lead over Roma and Chelsea in Tonny Sanabria race

When there is a great talent involved brining him home is never easy. Until the deal is sealed you must remain attentive, there are often counter offers, setbacks and deals are reached at the last second. Roma was close to landing Tonny Sanabaria, the Barca striker born in 1996. They observed the Paraguayan talent who wants to leave Barcelona thanks to an exit clause and because he wants to try a new experience where he will find more space than at Barca.
Roma had made an offer, the negotiation was in advanced stages as we had reported. But in the last few hours clubs from the Premier League joined the race. In fact the contacts are on going for Chelsea and especially Arsenal who doesn’t want to give up on Sanabria. They have made a counter offer to Barca, but the figures are still a secret. Roma now faces stiff competition since Tonny feels the EPL’s appeal and Wenger has launched many young players. Wenger rates Sanabria very highly, he has been following him and is now battling Chelsea and Roma to land him. The race is still on, but Roma needs to be careful since the English clubs are serious (article by Fabrizio Romano, translated by David Amoyal)

With Chelsea and Roma involved I dont see us signing him but at least we are trying to persuade him

Regarding Sanabria they've been spot every time as jmsmtthw28 has shown with the Di Marzio article.

The coach, Arsène Wenger, have asked the club executives increase economic offer and even longer speculated imminent trip of COO, Richard Law, to Barcelona to convince the family of the Paraguayan international of the advantages of playing in the Emirates and open negotiations with the blaugrana board. Arsenal has specialized in snatching promising young Barca academy which over the years have offered excellent performance.

@AFCAcademy
Wenger has been following Sanabria personally and more than 1 offer has been made to kill off any competition from Chelsea and Roma.

Sanabria has a preference to the BPL, so Arsenal… Play you’re cards right!

I don't see why not. Chelsea have a terrible record when it comes to playing and developing young players and Roma are nowhere near our level on or off the pitch, also Serie A is not on the same level as the EPL.

If he makes his decision on first team opportunities then Arsenal have a good chance of signing him but most kids and their agent choose money over playing time.

Here since 2009. Unlike Cornavirus.

I'd take him. But I think it would **** block a move for a world class striker in the summer. Or maybe I'm just thinking in the old way we did things.

He's 17... I doubt this would have any influence on that unless he is Messi-level talented.

The trick here is to try to think like Wenger thinks. He obviously likes Giroud and MAY feel he has enough cover in Bendt, Pods, Theo, Gnabry, Akpom, and Aneke. If he feels Sanabria is an amazing talent, and would possibly leapfrog the younger players for a spot on the first team, it may be a worthy investment. He won't cost THAT much and he could develop into an great player....seems like a smart move.

B forward Tonny Sanabria (17) will tomorrow decide which club he will join. He has pre-deals with Roma and Arsenal. Roma most likely [sport]
Its up to Sanabria now.

Say yes to papa Wenger... You know it's the right thing to do!

Seriously every young striker should want to play under Wenger with the track record he has for developing them.

Have a feeling Tonny Sanabria is now ours…

AFCAcademy 57s
@MessiMinutes Heard something (not from internet/twitter) that Roma ballsed up their latest offer, could just be noise though. Not sure.
Hopefully we will get him

Sanabria by all accounts is a WC talent, made his international debut at the age of 17.
Wellington/Campbell didnt get a work permit and it went downhill from there.

Well if Roma are silly enough to guarantee him first team football they can have him, who would want someone on there team like that, someone whos not willing to put in the hard work to get into the first team ...
