Mr chip on their shoulder strikes again! I definitely struck some sort of nerve questioning why Osimhen is going to Turkey- even though it’s not that I directly even said.
Apparently 1.5 million people followed his flight to Istanbul.
Tens of thousands of Gala fans were on streets of Istanbul, celebrating Sane's arrival.

It really bothers me when people think of playing in Turkey as similar to playing in the MLS, Saudi, UAE, or Qatar. Yes, it's also a place where faded stars go to, but the experience is completely different. The country is football mad. Some of the craziest atmospheres in world football. And it's in Europe, you're still playing in European comps.

So many stars have been taken with the atmosphere in Turkey. They start repping the club on social media etc even if they've only played for a few years. Sure, some of that is engagement farming from rabid fans, but the experience is no joke.

Just a recent example, Icardi was on loan at Gala initially and they gave him so much love that he took a paycut to stay on a permanent basis. Could've easily moved to Saudi for more money, or back to Italy to play in a better league.

According to @Red London it's better to play among rats in Manchester or sit on a bench in West London and get racially abused by your own support than experience this

This is also another angle to it, there's little racism towards black people in Turkey. You're very, very unlikely to see racial abuse of that sort. There's quite a bit of racism towards some other groups (Armenians, Greeks, Kurds, Arabs, Jews, at varying levels), but not black people.

We have followed with outrage the statements made by Allan Saint-Maximin, who wore our jersey in the 2024-25 season, on a social media platform.

The athlete's distortion of the facts regarding the treatment process applied to him after a health problem he experienced is an attempt to damage the reputation of our club.

As Fenerbahçe Sports Club, we would like to inform the public that we will use all our legal rights against misleading the public and distorted statements regarding our corporate reputation.
