I don't want to trigger people on here but I don't think anything matches the utter selfishness of Hleb in the 2006 CL final. At minute 13:00 here:

There seems to be something wrong with our attackers in a CL final. They just get extremely selfish sometimes.

That was disgustingly selfish of Saka. He actually did the same thing against PSG last year and he hasn't changed. Arteta needed to get on his case.
We've won the league. Saka has contributed massively to the success of this club. Doesn't look like he looks in that direction even once.

It's a fleeting missed moment at most, I don't find the use of your phrase "disgustingly selfish" warranted - give yer head a wobble lad 😎

I totally agree the word "disgustingly" was OTT yeah, I can't edit it unfortunately but I shouldn't have used it. I saw that Declan Rice literally screamed at him and also pointed to the overlap & Saka still chose to ignore it, that's why I was frustrated.

We only had a few chances to score so we didn't really have the luxury for ignoring overlaps like that.

But Saka played a blinder defensively, he really did an excellent job. The entire XI who started did their job. It was the substitutes however, they played disgustingly. This use of the word is warranted here.

We really had a chance in the second half of extra time, but our attack hasn't had the quality all season. I'm annoyed I let myself believe it was going to happen in extra time - PSG were there for the taking.

For all the talk about our great defending, psg literally didn't give us anything. Lets be honest our goal was lucky, but still a great finish.

All in all im not as dissapointed as i thought i would be. Feels like we cruised through to the CL final. The league felt alot more stressful and would've been devastating to lose but we got that over the line so kudos to the team.

May we never play those tactics again. We are PL champions not some relegation team. Saw a stat we we had less possession than we did in the 2006 final where we had a man down for most of the match. Sorry but i can't get behind that..not when we end up losing anyway. Still, we were only a penalty kick away from winning which i would've been ecstatic about but moving forward I want us to have more of a go even if we lose.

It is all bitter sweet because we love our team and we pulled of the EPL but it was a pen on noni and it is very clear to see regardless of the arms the Mendes fell on noni and that's a penalty. VAR backing the ref up saying there is no clear error is a blatant attempt to laundry it as a logical reason for a false narrative.

I wonder what VAR is for if not to correct wrong ref decisions because it seems to me it was used to back a wrong decision of the ref. Which is absolutely nuts and infuriating.

In a game where we've had less than 30% possession and Saka has barely had the ball in attacking areas and has spent the game basically as a RB helping defend Kvara, you can't just call out one poor action.

I don't think any of this negates the criticism. Saka's decision making has noticeably been worse this season, it's not just the reduced pace that's causing issues with his play.

Has anyone seen this? Unreal how much Carragher hate us. He can't hide his delight when Gabriel missed and was so annoyed Raya saved.

Beckham is visibly upset when we lost, strange for an ex PSG player. He's a Gooner. Micah needless to say he's also a Gooner through and through. I know Kate loves us and it shows. Del Piero pretty much neutral.

Yeah i was surpised by the level of happiness of both liverpool fans. It was sheer delight.
I think i have supported Pool in all three of their CL finals, give they are proper club, however, didnt support City due to their plastic nature. Liverpool fans seem to have this dik measuring habit of comparing their achievements with other English clubs, and since Arsenal would have done the CL/PL double before them, they wanted us to lose.

Fine for fans on a forum to celebrate their rivals losing but we dont really have any ex-players going on TV celebrating that I know of? The ex Liverpool and United lot have all got something wrong with them.

Arsenal Quotes

I want a fan to wake up in the morning and say, “Arsenal are playing today, I’m going to have a good time.” That guy starts his day off by thinking that something good is going to happen to him. And to do that, big clubs like Arsenal have to have the ambition to play spectacularly. Of shared happiness.
