UEFA Champions League - League Phase: Matchday 5 (Nov 26 & 27)

Nah, if you watched that game you’re definitely allowed to throw some dirt his way, I’m still in shock from just how bad it was. It was Sanogo level bad. He didn’t put a single foot right all game. I’ve seen Martinelli get slaughtered on here for much better performances. Rice got an assist against Sporting and still copped it so Mbappe after that is 100% fair game.

He’s obviously a great player but that performance? All time stinker. All-time.

The broader point about whether he’s the right fit for them is also very valid as we have a decent sample of games for Real now and they look way worse in attack than last season.

Thats what happens when you over extend you're stay in a farmers league. The guy is motivated by money and thats clear from his decision making in respect to clubs. He should've never signed for PSG in the first place but ended up staying their for 6 seasons.

Think we need another win to secure progression to the next phase, and two more wins for automatic qualification. Three wins and we are there for sure.

Only really managed to catch 20-25 mins of the game so I’ll take your word regarding his performance but generally my point was more directed at those who’ve played him down for a while now. Even when we were linked I remember some had their doubts as he didn’t press enough or other factors…😂

All in all, I still reckon it’s a bit premature. First few months in Madrid etc I genuinely wouldn’t put it past Real Madrid to switch it up in the second half of the season and people to be glazing him + the rest of them up come May if they manage to lift the CL. I feel like we’ve seen this all too much in recent years.

Yeah if anyone can turn it around it’s the Don.

Still though, Vini and Mbappe in the same team I dunno man, they’ll get in each others way too much.

It’s like the first draft game we did and Farzaad picked both Auba and Henry and kept trying to tell us how it was like Picasso and Einstein had a baby and we didn’t understand his genius 😂

The main point really is that you don’t just pick the best player, you pick the right player. Mbappe is better than benzema but I know which one would be better for this Madrid team.

Real look so average at the back you could imagine they would drop 300 million to buy Gabriel and Saliba together 🤣 such an overrated team for me.
Real have their RB and CB out for the season. Alaba and Tchouaménialso injured who can play there. No Vini and Rodrygo either.

It's exactly this and it's overkill. I said at the start of the season that this version of the Galactico's would underwhelm like the previous editions, while people fawned over their array of stars.

There main problem is the loss of Modric and Kroos. They've gone from having 2 of the best playmakers in football to not really having anyone on that level.

Also Real might have won CLs in recent times but doing so while sitting back and playing on the counter doesn't make you an elite footballing side.

Arsenal Quotes

Thierry Henry was very quick at analysing everything that was going on and how he needed to react. This intelligence, this capacity to evaluate, understand and question oneself, is also the mark of great players... For everyone, for the fans and for us, he symbolised the golden age of Arsenal.
