He didn't do much but Gyo played really big part in our goal he took the defenders and Kai attacked the box without being marked.
Their right centre back was in no-mans land, their left CB was man-marking Gyokeres and a midfielder was marking Havertz.
When Martinelli dribbled into space their midfielder was pushing up to the ball(without communicating with his CBs) so Havertz was suddenly without a marker and their CBs had no idea what was going on.

Gyokeres didn't do anything. This goal is all Martinelli, he created the space by pulling Havertz' marker towards him plus non-communication of centerbacks plus Havertz taking advantage of it.

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆

He did take Inacio with him that what made space open up if he stayed in middle kai couldn't find space to attack. But of course big credit goes to Martinelli

I am a little bit disappointed by the fact that the whole world is complaining that we won the match in an ugly way yesterday, but why is that? Yes, the football is not very sparkling at the moment, but it cannot be like that for an entire season. It is just unfortunate that we are not at the same level as during the period from August to December 2025. But we have all seen that we have a very good team and that we can beat any opponent.

It also reminds me of the fact that people like José Mourinho or Diego Simeone were always praised for being able to win matches 0–1, and that is exactly what we did yesterday. And yes, Sporting had a very big chance, but we had the match pretty much under control, to be completely honest, and that was our objective.

Let’s take positivity and energy from this, because I know that this team can win the EPL and the PL. We just need to grow back to our level of 2025, because we all know that we have the qualities and do not need to be afraid of anyone.

Martinelli, havertz, gyokeres are footballers ..not passing stat merchants ..thank fukk. At least they can hold their own on a football pitch and have some bloody mindedness

This reminds me of the same discussion previously with Arsenal fans back then when we were linked with Miguel Angulo of Valencia and Carrick of West Ham and everyone prefers the former as Carrick isn't fit to lace his boots and English players are crap and overrated

Tbf, Zubi in the first half of the season before he was run into the ground by Mikel *is* twice the player that Anderson and Wharton are. It's easy to forget how good he was from September - December.

Zubi is a better player. I am not disagreeing with my post. That guy is just being stupid and low iq.

Thing is there are people who are automatically dismissive because some players are English. Like people who prefer Tonali over Rice, Fresneda over White those days

How much of Anderson have you watched. His highlights look kind of insane as are his stats. Looks like a very complete midfielder.

I've watched a decent amount. If you only casually watched Zubimendi you would think he's one of the best MFs on the planet especially when he was fresh. When you watch 90 mins of a player x3 per week you will pick up on their flaws.

When a fan without any sense of football knowledge thinks he knows better but even the scorer himself goes out and says thanks to Gyokeres for the space created.

Nobody liked Atlético for the same reason, why you want the world to like ugly and boring football? Barcelona and Wenger won a lot of fans by playing beautiful football, it’s not that hard to understand that people who is not Arsenal fan likes attractive football.

Raya is the man. Anyone know where to get that purple goalie top? I can’t find it anywhere!

Our whole team was on another level tbf. but its impossible to maintain that for a whole season.

Watching PSG we have no chance against these guys. We just don’t have the technical players in attack. All their attackers have that swerve that change of pace that X factor. We only have a couple technical players

Yeah they are full of ballers we are nowhere near. We will need multiple transfer windows if we want to compete and stay far away from the tonali’s and gordons.

Our manager doesn’t like those types of players. He likes tall duel monsters who run a lot

I mean look at how these guys create and play through Lfc’s line and see how we simply can’t create if a good team sits back a little or does a good job pressing

Kvara is unreal dribbled around keeper after feasting on a delicious through ball. 2-0 they are doing whatever they want against a Lfc team we created nothing against. Sorry Bayern or PSG would beat us pretty easy if we get to final, which is still a big if.

Id fancy our chances when we get some players back. Make it as messy as possible and hope we can stop them from playing.
