Madrid are my second favorite team because I supported any team that R9 was playing for and I have never seen them trying so hard to manufacture this talk of a remontada in the media before. The notion that anyone associated with Arsenal is rattled is very dumb and clear projection. They're rattled in a way I haven't personally witnessed trying to manifest something from outside of the pitch because they don't believe they can do it on the pitch.

Time to shutdown this Real Madrid arrogance they have been outplayed last week and no way we should act like we are already through just play our game and we will survive this.

They should show us some more respect.

Only thing is fear is a sh*tty ref.

When Mbappe dives five minutes in and the entire stadium screams for a penalty, he'll probably give it.

1st leg every 50/50 was given for them. I hope refs be fair I seriously had enough of this season in PL in CL they at least fair but with real Madrid you'll never know but if we go out better be not because of refs I don't want to lose my s**t

Oh that red can be easily explained, it was @BBF on ref duty that day and Granit merely existing is a red card in his book!

To be fair, he jumped off the floor with his studs up. He could have won the ball without the idiocy and the card but that's Xhaka for you

I used to respect them because they always seemed quite respectable when dealing with other teams and not ripping them off and going crazy with the tapping up etc like Barca always used to do with us and I liked that they kept humbling the barca pricks of course but I don't like their recent trend of just tapping up players for years and trying to get them on the cheap or free. **** em

Madrid forum.
We played on Tuesday and our next league game is on Sunday, and I'm really not interested in rotations with Arsenal in mind. La Liga is more attainable than the CL at this point. All this approach likely guarantees is punting away any last hope at the league AND for a fruitless comeback attempt. And does anyone think this team gets past PSG anyway?

The problem when you try and do the whole "eh, the CL is all we care about anyway" thing is that suddenly a freak occurrence - like someone scoring two absolutely insane free kicks in the space of 12 minutes - goes from "eh, **** happens, it's only one game out of 38" to "this just ruined our entire season". You have 37 other games in league play to limit the effects of that, you only have 90 minutes at home to overturn a 3-goal deficit against what might be Europe's toughest team to score against.

And even if the free kicks themselves were a bit of a freak occurrence to have that happen against you, the second goal was immediately after Arsenal were very unlucky not to score from that flurry they had on goal. Maybe the way the 3-0 happened was unlucky, but the 3-0 itself was every bit an earned result by both teams.
It's like they have forgotten we have played many ties in the CL where the team out shot us, out possessed us out outplayed us but we were clinical with our finishing and suffered enough on defense to win.

The same people bashing the team would have been cheering loudest if Mbappe held his run and stayed onside on that Vini pass and if he curled the ball pass the keeper instead of hitting it right at him in that one on one.

Yeah we know we know Aresenal had chances. Guess what idiots? We have won multiple CLs the last years playing teams who had more chances and won because we scored ours and found a way to limit theirs.

We didn't score not one.
We have to overwhelm them in the first 20 mins and score at least one goal. That's when the belief comes back and Arsenal's players may second guess themselves. If we don't manage a goal, then it's going to be a long night. I'm cautious but very excited, let's do it!
They may just as easily score an early goal if we commit too many people forward.
Personally I'm excited for what much of RMBS would consider "the wrong reasons" :D
Hey, you never know. Maybe one of their players might gets sent off for a bad tackle.
Arsenal haven't lost a game by 3 or more goals in a while. In addition to that, they haven't been steam rolled in a game away from home in the last couple of years.

Of course, we're the remontada specialists, and we're "Real Madrid", but to say that it is within our control to get to the semis is a massive understatement.
Personally I feel the 3rd goal killed us. At 2-0 we're still well within the tie and chances of coming back is much higher.

I don't think we'll come back but what I am hoping for is 100% commitment until the end and if we're going out then go out trying and doing the most you can.

What I don't want to see if 30 minutes in the game, heads dropping and we're all over the place, even if Arsenal do end up scoring.
We play horribly to be honest; we're fortunate to have a star-studded squad. Let's not act like the better team lost. We were terrible from the first minute and it was largely one-way traffic.

No cohesion, no gameplan, no ideas, etc. We rely heavily on individual brilliance and against well-organized sides like Barca, Arsenal, etc. we fall apart easily and look lost.
Don't expect Arsenal to concede that many goals. We won last year, so we are good. However, it's kind of funny that we often suffer a lot to progress, yet when we get knocked out, it tends to be humiliating.
We can score 3, the problem is how many we will concede, because we will at this form.
I have no problems going out to Arsenal at home.

But at least go out swinging. Last we need is going out with another 0.5 xG.
What I think will happen is we win, but not by enough to take it to extra time, but with a bit of magic … you never know.

I know we’ve been humiliated, but it’s still … Arsenal.
Arsenal concedes too few chances over the season while we concede too many to be able to outscore them by 4 goals.
Arsenal is one of the best teams in Europe in terms of conceding good chances. Moreover, Sociedad managed to score 4 at the Bernabeu. This is like City expecting a magic against us a few months ago - it doesn't work that way.

This is exactly what Madrid is best of and won them so many CL. They weren't the always the best team but they were at the right time. That's why it's very good we have a 3 goal lead.

Still Pining for Wenger
5 - 0 to City when Xhaka got the most corrupted red card ever
Thanks I've blanked out that game completely.

I think we'll go through as long as we don't concede before 60 minutes. Momentum is a big thing in football.

If we actually win here, we may go all the way.

I'm sounding like Andy Townsend on commentary here I know.

Arsenal Quotes

I knew we were very different, that he (Ferguson) had a total hold over his club while at that time I was still more of a coach. I also recognised his huge qualities. He knew how to surround himself with the right people and didn't rest on his laurels when he was successful.
