our form going to the drain, meanwhile Bodo Glimt form skyrocketed

and yeah, if we can win and pass Leverkusen, everyone is going to get behind Bodo

Yeah it doesn't account for individual ability. It's literally expected goals, with that expectation taken from an amalgamation of all players. In a single game if a chance falls to a top finisher they can bury it no matter what the xG of the chance is.

Much better used across a long run of games, like when it pretty much predicted Aston Villa eventually falling off.
Even discounting for top finishers it can give you a completely distorted picture. Apparently Arsenal had 1.89 xG last night and PSG had around 0.98, even if you had snorted UTGs snus box all in one go there's no way you came away from those matches with that impression.

What's going on there? They're winning everything now. At the start of the campaign they couldn't even beat Slavia Prague or Monaco and needed a miraculous winning streak to even qualify for the next round.
Judging from the stats and highlights, they were unlucky not to win those.

One of these is a lesbian no one wants, the other couldn't do it against a relegation fighting league 1 side and the other is the best LW in the world, playing for the European Champions who play farmers every week.

Makes you wonder who's who..

Marcus who?

I don’t think they’re going through but I think professional pride and being at home means we can count on them to put in a strong side.

Looks like they’re going to have a freshness advantage on us during the run-in but the way we’re playing I’d rather go out of the CL now and limp to the PL title than stay in the CL at the expense of the league.
The question is whetther we can turn our form around. Obvs the CMs are both knackered, but the real issue is that Saka is well off form, Ode can't get fit, Trossard is injured, Havertz isn't quite fit yet and is being managed. So we are relying on Martinelli who can't do it against deep defences, Gyok who can bury chances but never gets any, Eze who is finding his way but is still a moments player and Madueke who is a bit of a box of chocolates player. If we can get that first choice attack fit and firing a bit better, the whole equation changes.

What we really want is for City to drop points in the league before we play them, and avoid defeat at their place. If both those things happen we should be able to juggle both comps just fine.

Saka may have won the war against Palmer and Foden but right now it's look like a pyrrhic victory. They all look washed. Not looking good for England going into the WC.
imagine washed under 25yo, what kind washed is that ?? this is so sad man

This whole "not looking good for the Prem" **** going on is a bit silly. Newcastle (who are in 12th btw) deserved to win vs Barca, they thoroughly outplayed the Spanish league leaders, Chelsea are a ****ing ****show with a brand new manager and a bunch of little baby *****es in the team, they have 0 experience and know-how, and City just **** the bed. Sp**s are about to be relegated. It's a ****ing travesty they even made it this far, everybody that didn't make it cause of them oughta be ashamed of themselves. But now everyone's coming out with an opinion on how poor the league is... Second leg hasn't even happened yet. Sheesh. So reactionary and dumb

There’s a lot being said about how the Prem may be overrated after the latest CL results. Personally I think a lot of it has to do with the grind and pressure of the Prem. A lot of players are not in form l and I feel like the physicality of the Prem and all these additional nations league and other games are taking their toll. Plus the Prem has no real winter break. Bayern looked scintillating and they are a really good side, but it helps that very few teams in the Bundesliga can really trouble them. Contrast that with the Prem where lower ranked sides can give you problems any week.

Embarrassing night for the English CL teams. Liverpool and Arsenal should get through still.

You have Sp**s who have lost 50 games nearly in 2 seasons and they are in the CL KO stages. This current format is way too watered down.

If anything, people jumping on the PL the second one of its teams stumbles just proves the league’s stature. It’s so big that loads of people are literally waiting for the tiniest slip to have a go. Funny thing is, that behaviour only ends up showing how massive the PL actually is.

I am immensely proud to say that I am the manager who has won the most FA Cups, and MY Arsenal are the club to lift it the most.
