I see what you're doing here.
There’s no ulterior motive bro, you’re too deep, man.

One of the few people here who believes that chance is a big factor in the game of football. You need luck to win games sometimes and suddenly we’re getting more than our fair share, it’s great.

It’s got nothing to do with managers. Emery is doing a superb job and I couldn’t be happier.

Thought Ramsey did some really good things and made some great runs that would have had him one on one with the keeper but was ignored mainly by Auba.
Completely disagree. The only run he made was getting in the way of Welbeck when he had a decent chance. Easily the worst player on pitch bar Coates.

I see what you're doing here.

Also Welbeck's finish wasn't lucky. Going through the keepers legs is an established finishing technique.

Just because there is a technique for it doesn't mean he actively used it . Not sure Welbeck is the striker that deserves the benefit of the doubt when analyzing his finishes if you base it on previous finishing:lol:

I'm not sure what you're implying here.

Are you saying that we could be going on this same run right now with Wenger in charge simply if he had a similar degree of "luck"?

What’s a matter with everybody?

Last couple of games we’ve had a bit luck. Superb news. What’s it got to do with Emery or Wenger?

You have to consistently put yourself in positions to BE lucky.

Last season and a fair few seasons before that we weren't imposing ourselves or showing up in games to even begin to rely on luck, that's the clear difference.

You're going to have to somewhat rely on decisions to go your way in every game and in every single minute of every single game, but you mitigate the NEED for this by imposing yourselves on the game. Like others have said, all well and good saying Sokratis could have been sent off, Welbeck's goal COULD have stood, Auba COULD have scored that 1 on 1, Sporting COULD have had a shot on target, are all of these things down to luck? No.

Not much luck was involved. They didn't have a shot on target all game and much of that was due to good defending.

The goal should have stood. Welbz put out his arms to stop the defender from falling against him.

The most Sokratis should have got was a yellow even if it was a foul. Leno was getting to that ball first so it wasn't a clear scoring opportunity.

Thing is plenty of decisions are still going against us, it's not as if we've become the referees' darlings overnight.

Both last night and, especially, against Leicester the refs held back on penalising the other team with yellows far more than they did us.

Go easy bro, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of luck, we don’t have to make excuses for it, or pretend it didn’t happen.

Ignore the guy talking about luck. He just wants to be able to say I told you so when we eventually lose.
Boll*cks. Emery’s perfect for this club, an attacking manager that’s not afraid to make decisions and has given us ‘all out’ swashbuckling games every bit as exciting as Wenger’s.

We all know who’ll start the moaning first when he goes through a bad patch, and it won’t be those that stood by Wenger.

Agree. Likewise no need to pretend it happened.
Sokratis was the last defender and pulled back a forward who’d got away from him by his shirt . . and none of the 3 officials spotted it. That’s luck.

But so what, we’ve had enough calls against us. That’s how football goes. Why’s everybody so defensive.

See my earlier post. Not denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity even if it had been a foul.

People are defensive because for years we've had to put up with "lucky Arsenal" and "same old Arsenal, always cheating" whilst opponents inflicted career-threatening injuries on our players with impunity. When you play better than your opponent and win it's not luck, it's quality.

That’s true. All luck equals out eventually, otherwise it’s not luck.

Lot of confusion around chance though. If you’re peppering a goal with attacking play and a shot goes in with a deflection, it’s not luck. You’re playing the xG odds game. And if you shoot straight at the keeper or hit the crossbar, you’re not unlucky, you’ve missed.

But referees mistakenly sending players off, or missing blatant cheating, or not spotting clear offside goals . . these are elements of chance that can swing games.

Because everyone's cottoned on to your agenda. We all know you're implying Wenger''s misfortunes were down to luck hence the term Wenger luck that you coined. You're tip toeing round actually saying it.
