I agree with this. I think we have the 3rd best squad in the league. We are still a bit too weak in midfield for my liking though.
It is too easy to overrate or underrate a player's individual level because football after all is a team sport. How good or bad you will look will depend a lot on how well your team mates are doing their jobs. The player is only 1 part of 11 parts. Obviously the manager is responsible for making all the parts connect to each other etc.
It is interesting that suddenly Leicester's players are rated so highly at the moment. Particularly their defence. Almost the same defence that was shambolic, conceding 48 goals last season.
Have their defensive players suddenly turned world class? Or is the fact that compared to last year when they were inviting teams onto them, this season they are dominating play and attacking all the time, thus giving their defenders less to do? I'm afraid it is the latter.
I agree with the point that the manager has improved Leceister, their playstyle has changed and he has unleashed their attacking potential rather than the cautious style of play we saw with Puel, who was still a decent manager but could have done more with the team.
But I also think you're underrating them a bit too easily as well. Leicester have been quietly putting together a good team for a few seasons now with quality scouting and recruitment; and if you look at the players individually/have followed them for a while you'll see that they are actually quite good and highly rated for a reason.
An improvement in manager is making it more visible, just as an improvement in manager would do the same with Arsenal.
