Not actually American. Unless Di Marzio says so.

Sissoko still making the France squad wtf?
Part of the reason Aouar didn't want to come to Arsenal was because he didn't want to switch leagues during the season in case in jeopardised his chances of making the squad. Still got left out anyway.

Tolisso has missed 73 matches through injury since the WC in 2018, how's he still in the squad, he played 760 league minutes this season

Benzema getting the recognition he deserves. Such a generational striker.

Yep Dechamps clearly got his favs they need to consider managerial changes because he wasting too many talents that should be in the squad.
The trick about national team management is to be able to create a genuine team rather than a selection of players. Developing team chemistry in such limited periods is a challenge. So many great selections have underachieved at major tournaments because they weren't able to develop chemistry. That's the reason why so many managers just keep going with the experienced former call-ups instead of picking the best players available at all times.

Now, Deschamps may be overdoing it to a degree, but it's not really unbelievable or illogical that he does this.

What's crazy is Tolisso and Sissoko making the squad ahead of Ndombele and Aouar, who have both had decent seasons actually. Ndombele and Aouar really need to be in the squad for the WC in '22 though.
