I really think if you have Rice in midfield forget about playing quick exciting football. He is very good at what he does. But his inability to move the ball quick, see pass early and lack of great passing will make every team he plays for slow. People just don’t want to see it

Fair enough, I’m sort of in the same boat. Probably the 06 World Cup for me. Last tournament I seriously enjoyed watching England in was probably Euro 2004.
