There’s absolutely no point playing a more balanced XI if you end up playing players who aren’t good enough for the International level.

Palmer, when fit, is top five in the England squad. Injuries hampered his season. I still have faith he can have a fruitful England, albeit not the “English saviour” that Sky Sports mob tries to peddle.

On the other hand, Bowen has no business playing for England. Every time he puts on that white shirt, he plays against us. He is one of those English players who winds up playing for Ireland or Wales through a grandparent because they're rubbish, and it's their only hope of playing in big tournaments.

Finally, there is Foden. Everyone knows my thoughts on him, and nothing has changed. He is a system player with one superstar quality - his shooting - apart from that he is underdeveloped in several aspects of the game and should be used accordingly. He's lucky that Nwaneri hasn't broken into Arsenal’s starting XI yet because his place would be in jeopardy.

Tuchel won't fold to the pressures of the English media. For one he is German, so he knows he isn't welcomed by the press, and two, he's always struck me as an oddball/hipster who values structure over big names. Things didn't work out for him at PSG because of this, but in England, there aren't too many superstars to deal with.

Palmer hasn't been any good for Chelsea since 2024. For England, his only positive performances have been two short cameos off the bench 2 years ago and nothing since. When we have the likes of Saka, Rodgers, Eze, Madueke, Gordon, and Rashford who have all played well for England in the past 2 years, I don't think Palmer along with Foden and Bowen make the cut.
