The even bigger joke is, that there was currently a "fun tournament" named "World Sevens Football" during this week in Portugal too.

Womens team like Bayern, United, City, PSG were all invited (obviously teams like Arsenal & Barca couldn't because of the CL) and the winners (Bayern) gained around 2million dollars just in this week.

I saw that pop up when I was Googling the prize money but didn't realise that's what it was about!

I wonder if its because its aired for free? It has been aired for free for some years now. Think with the growth happening in women football hopefully they can get more money for the tv rights

Anyway a powerhouse like UEFA should chip more in to support women football.

Mr Akers really is like the Godfather of the women's game, what a guy!

This is going to sound a bit mad, but one of the reasons I follow this team is Vic Akers and his commitment to the Women's team. In many ways, that sealed the deal for me. Henry and Bergkamp and the back four attracted me, but when I saw the deeper values of the club included promoting the sport to everyone, I was all in.

This comes from a USA women's supporter who always found the lack of support for women's sports in my home country a bit painful. Arsenal women have a lot of supporters here.
