Arteta? My guy watch nowdays cf they all crap and expensive back in day every team had 2 very top CF.

Defoe was a very good CF to be honest, he was like a poor man's Michael Owen (which is still quality)

He was starting for West Ham when he was a teen I think, then starting for Sp**s when they got Top Four first time in 2010 and were a regular Europa level side.

Issue for him is he needed a partner as he wasn't a lone forward, feel the move to 4-3-3 turned players like him into inverted wingers/wide forwards now...more limited but his strengths were higher than most.
