There are probably question marks surrounding all the strikers we're interested in. I'm sure there are even some who don't want Isak either because of his injury history and fee.

Yeah his fee is the major stumbling block I think. It eats into our budget so we'd have to go real cheap in other key positions.

Defoe was a very good CF to be honest, he was like a poor man's Michael Owen (which is still quality)

He was starting for West Ham when he was a teen I think, then starting for Sp**s when they got Top Four first time in 2010 and were a regular Europa level side.

Issue for him is he needed a partner as he wasn't a lone forward, feel the move to 4-3-3 turned players like him into inverted wingers/wide forwards now...more limited but his strengths were higher than most.

Though no idea why Defoe of all people is getting brought up in here

Next they'll gonna remind us of Darren Bent.
