🚨 Ornbomb 🚨 Victor Gyokeres

Football Coach 👍
If we get Eze N Gyok I expect way more from the attack. We were bare bones last year so whatever.
It was the difference in our Premier League and Champions League campaigns last season. We just didn't have the firepower up front in certain games to get us over the line. We controlled games but couldn't do what was necessary....score goals.

Reminds me of yesteryear here on AM where 27 was considered the absolute upper limit of player ability and that even a day older meant they should be tossed in the bin.
Gyokeres who had zero injures in his career he can easily can offer 6 more years at top level and strikers usually get better when they grow older.

It's a shame I recently watched a Thierry Henry compilation. Those can mute your excitement on players with a more simplistic style.

That said, a simplistic, strong, rapid player who's first thought is the goal is something of an antidote to what we've been watching recently, so I welcome this gamble.

The guy that pocketed 6 million from the Pepe signing and then quietly left on "mutual basis" was a proper DF?
All our best players in the team other than Rice had his hand in their transfer/inclusion in the team and he may have pocketed money *allegedly* but he also was able to sell our cast off for good money like 30mil for Theo and Iwobi, 45 for Ox.

Doing dodgy **** is just the nature of the business, something neeks like Tim Lewis wouldn't get. Bet you we lost far more having people in charge who weren't able to sell anything after Arteta had devalued the players. Something that wouldn't have happened with Sanhelli and his dodgy contacts books. Similar to how the likes of Chelsea are able to wring gold out of their roster of feces.

True true. Just needed clarification because Pepe signing was a big flub. And club couldn't prove the money was given to him so they just told him to leave on his accord or get fired.

our squad is still also very young specially after MLS and Ethan included in team. we also gone past being developed club we can buy ready made players or still developing.
We are incredibly lucky to have so many young players not really even in their primes yet on the cusp of world class or at the very least being near the top of our league at their position. I think in this case it would be prudent to add experienced players around them to elevate the fine margins. We do have experience in the right areas of the spine, GK, CB, and our midfield to elevate our special young players.

Mik should have a lot of pressure on himself this season as this squad is a good mix of experience, youth, and possibilities.

How many goals did Haaland score against the top 5 in England last season?
The point of using stats vs top 5 in Portugal was to focus on clubs that averages closer to as strong as average EPL clubs to estimate how Gyok will do in EPL. Top 5 EPL is much stronger incomparable to top 5 Portugal, thus its unfair to compare Haaland vs top 5 EPL against Gyok vs top 5 Portugal. But to please you, on Haaland's best EPL season at 22/23 (use best season as was for Gyok and Nunez), vs top 5 EPL he did 7 starts (1 injured)/6g/5a.

Good signing, shows ambition. He is very different from Havertz which will help us in mixing things up.

He can become our own vardy.
Agreed, in the first part at least. I read a lot of comparisons to Havertz on here, but I just don't see it. Havertz feels much looser on the ball, and for the lack of a better word, languid in his approach. Gyok drives the ball upfield and towards goal while being much more physical in his approach. Kai can be slippery when he wants to be, but Gyok seems more of a bulldozer.

Agreed, Havertz is more of ball holding striker while Gyok takes shot quite often. Kai is very shy in the penalty box, we need more ruthlessness around the box. We will have lot of games so these 2 can rotate plus Merino surprise 😁.

17 PL games where we scored one or zero goals.

Gyokeres will at least shoot when he sees the goalposts all those stats like XG metrics mean sfa to me the eye test of players not taking responsibility when a chance arrives has hurt us way more.

He kicks the ball at the goal a lot and it mostly goes in, has a no nonsense aggressive style and runs hard. Doesn't take much more to be a success in this team IMO

I think Haaland is very limited to beside his goalscoring record. hopefully Gyok can give us that.

I assume you mean championship winning as opposed to a championship level club…😂

But yes, spot on.

Complete the deals in progress and add Eze and there be no complaints, in my view.
Why you guys called the lower tier league the championship still boggles my mind. At least over here in the states, our lower tier baseball leagues are called AAA, AA, etc, and down so it sounds like something you'd call to get your car towed so you know you're in the pits.

Some of the assessments of him are harsh. What we do know is that when Merino, a midfielder that is good at movement in the box and shooting, was asked to play up front he put up decent numbers. In particular, he made Kai’s shooting look silly.

This team has goals in it. All he has to do is follow Arteta’s tactics and put away some of the chances that will fall to him and we are a better team. Sure he’s not elite but he doesn’t need to be in a team that should be able to dominate a lot of the games.

Yeah similar in Gyok will make EPL debut at 27, same as Vardy was in 14/15. Gyok is bigger, stronger, better ball carrier but Vardy is quicker, better movement, better finisher, impressive how he manages to scores >10 EPL goals/season for a mid table EPL team until he is 35.
