There are some really good journalists doing important work (and usually spending some time in prison or in courts as a result) but most of the Turkish media is either mouthpieces for the government, bunch of people who say a lot without saying anything, and/or clickbait grifters.

Gut feeling is that this is just a case of what was initially reported - us enquiring about his situation while working on another deal, as opposed to actively working on making a deal happen. With the lack of decent forwards out there I wouldn’t be surprised to see the club go back on it if the financials aren’t silly but I would be surprised if they did so without Gyokeres leaving.

I do imagine as much as he’s their main guy, that Galatasaray would prefer to get some cash for him before he gets too old and starts to plummet in value

Osimhen has the better allround play, what could benefit our game more, while Gyökeres is clearly the better finisher.

I don’t rate Gyokeres, but you could also very much make an argument Kai is the one who should be shipped out if this happens. High wages, injury concerns, not clinical, a few years left on their deal, etc.
