Victor Wanyama

I just hope that Wenger has learned that buying players that look good in vastly inferior leagues hasn't worked.
Fellaini is a no risk, ready to go, quality international player, who has played most of his football at the highest level.

Wanyama plays for Celtic, in possibly the weakest league in Europe.
Even Giroud, Chamakh and Gervinho would look like world beaters against the likes of Ross County and Kilmarnock.

Fellaini and this guy seem like very dfferent players.

Wanyama hasn't looked out of place in the Champion's League mate.

Wanyama talking to #AFC

Is the above guy reliable? Only asking because he's being quoted on Celtic forums and they think he's reliable.

Confusion on wether he has 12 or 18 months left on his deal too btw, general feeling is that he will leave.

Never knew his brother was Mariga (Inter player on loan at Parma)!

Would they look like world beaters against Barce?

My vibe is the Fellaini is waiting for Manure, makes sense if we have moved on to other targets. A guy whose deal is running out looks like the kind of value Arsène is interested in.

Massive come down from Fellaini but much more realistic. He'd do as a Diaby replacement.

You'd sign someone on the strength of one good game against Barca? Well, that opens the market up somewhat!

Few players have wrecked havoc on Barce the way he has, he also got MOTM against Inter and he's had good games against Juve and Benfica. He's 21 to boot (providing he hasn't come on a dodgy passport). More importantly he's just what we need, a very physical top class ball winner

I saw most of the Celtic games in the CL and Wanyama was their stand out player.
But if I had the money and could choose between a player that was proven in the PL or any top league and a player that had played most of his football in the SPL, and a few decent games in the CL, I would have to go for the the proven player, at the highest level.

We have taken too many punts on players from inferior leagues, because the player looks good against inferior opposition.
This policy simply hasn't worked and now we have the money, we should look to buying proven quality at the highest level.

Saying all that, I can see us buying Wanyama for around 15m, rather than spending a bit more on someone like Fellaini.

Only Stoke and Valencia have bid for Wanyama, Stoke have met the 10M asking price but the player isn't keen on that move.

Not keen to go there. What is he thinking of?
Stoke and Mark Hughes.
What's not to like?

Don't want him.

Would be a return to the days of Song.

I like this dynamic Arteta and Ramsey have and I want us to sign a player in the Arteta mould, so someone like Gonalons/Bender for me.

No more specialist midfielders

Not overly hot on this move. If Diaby was fit then Wanyama would be a great rotation option and although I think he is better than Stoke I do not feel that he is top4 quality at the moment.

Has Wanyama really regressed that much? Swear he was high in demand a season or so ago and even linked with other top clubs.

Gundogan is not a realistic target
Fellaini and Wyanama are right now, they are both available and we can afford both of them
I want Fellaini as it will send out a message to the rest of the league but Wyanama is not a bad second choice.

Regressed from what? Has he ever been that good? Hypes go fast nowadays, sometimes they're based on very little.

Standing out in Celtic's game might not be good enough for standing out in our tactically different higher level game.
