He's technically much better than I'd thought. Pretty impressive stuff.

Those moaning about Wanyama and Capoue's ability to pass the ball need to search their memorys for how utterly dog sh't alex song was when he started off here, I'd regard him as one of the worst I have seen.

Technically I've seen Wanyama score very technical goals for celtic and that speaks volume to me about his ability technique doesn't just stick to one element so I can see him building on what he has at the club. The same can be said for all players and if we can get the sort of passing we got out of song after his starting point I can't see us pulling out of moves for either Capoue or Wanyama due to some % drop in his passing stats.

You need to search your memories too and remember that Song was 17 years old when he started playing for us. By the time he was 21 years old his passing problems were gone. Wanyama is 21 years old ATM, still young and can improve, but he would be yet another project rather than someone who can slot in and take our game to a new level next season.

Yeah of course I forgot players are unable to improve after the age of 21 sorry about that.

Just a peak into what he has done the last two seasons. I think people assume he has bad technique because he plays in Scotland compared to the other people we have been linked with who play in France and Germany were technique generally speaking is better. Surprising though since so many people here watch obscure French2nd division football but don't want Scottish football live on Sky Sports.

We should sign that Denilson guy tbh. Brazilian DM, still young and he's a free agent.

Have you seen his passing stats? Wow! He could be the next Xavi. Wenger should be sacked if he misses out on this one.

As i said here already, he is better technically then Gonalon but people on this site prefer French guy.
He looks on video like a faster version of Song, great stuff.

Victor looks like a Gunner
By MARK WALKER

VICTOR WANYAMA is set to quit Celtic for Arsenal — after admitting on Kenyan TV that talks are ALREADY taking place.

The midfielder is back in Africa to captain his country in their World Cup qualifiers.

But he gave an extensive interview to his homeland television station NTV in their The Trend programme at the weekend.

The 21-year-old was repeatedly quizzed about whether his future remained with the Scottish champions, after he was linked with Arsenal, Newcastle United, Stoke City and Inter Milan.

And despite being reluctant to confirm that he was almost certainly leaving the Hoops, Wanyama finally admitted discussions are ongoing about his future — with Gunners boss Arsène Wenger in pole position to land his signature.

When asked if Arsenal had been in contact with him Wanyama replied: “It’s not a good time to talk about this, but right now I still have a contract with Celtic.

“I’m still their player. If anything comes up that is good for me and good for the club, then I’ll move on.

“At the moment, there are some things. There are some talks going on. But I was concentrating on national duty and I left that for my agent. But I haven’t talked with him.”

Wanyama is now worth some £10million — more than ten times the £900,0000 Celtic paid Belgian outfit Beerschot for him in 2011.

He captained his country in their 1-0 World Cup defeat against Nigeria last week — coming up against Parkhead team-mate Efe Ambrose — but suffered a potentially serious leg injury that will rule him out of Wednesday’s game with Malawi.

Wanyama — who needed treatment twice during the game — insisted that he had been subjected to some rough treatment from the African champions.
He said: “I can’t tell how long before I can recover, I will have to wait for a scan to know the extent of the injury.

“I knew it was going to be tough but I had to keep on moving. I went for the ball and one guy caught my shin, and I knew that they wanted to get me.”

The skipper will still travel to Malawi with the Kenya squad and coach Adel Amrouche added: “It is unfortunate but Wanyama is out of the match because he suffered a serious injury against Nigeria.
“We have opted to give him time to rest and recover fr
om the injury.”

League is very weak
From all the CM/DM types linked - Wanyama, Capoue, Gonolons, the German guy's, let's include Fellaini etc, Wanyama is the one I would put money on joining us, if I had to go for one.

Seems a very Wenger player, even the price tag, probably get him for less than 12M. Issue could be Celtic holding out for more, he is their young star.

This looks a likely signing. Wenger will work on him in the next 18 months and make him a beast, you know how it goes.

My 2nd choice after Fellaini. Really hope he joins Arsenal.

If Celtic sell Hooper to the Premier League, which looks likely, I reckon they'll hold on to Wanyama unless they get the money they want.

This one seems to have some legs for me. I can see it happening. We will pay whats necessary if he is wanted.

Wenger has spoken to Celtic and the player wants to join, according to his old coach who's in touch with Wanyamas father on a weekly basis, so we'll see.

We were never going to stump up the money for Fellaini. Does it really sound feasible that we'd break our transfer record twice this summer, on Fellaini and a forward too?

I'd still prefer Lars Bender but I'm not going to argue with this one, he would be a quality signing.

I don't like those quotes I think his dad or agent made a little while ago about us being a stepping stone though.

Ok, so I went on a Celtic forum and BANG, Wanyama only has 1 year left on his deal and 90% of the comments think he's off this summer.

Our interest makes total sense now.

Why would Wanyama move from Celtic to Stoke
Celtic play in the CL and are guarranted to win the SPL again next season, Stoke are lucky they still play in the PL

If I had a meter like MD, it would be at about 70% atm, 30% before I found out about Victors contract.

If the contract has 1 year Celtic need to sell and not at too high a price. The thing is why would they only sign him on a 2 year contract?

If Wenger wants him we should get him. The most likely transfer at the moment I think. He might be a bit rough around the edges, his ball retention will be a little frustrating at first but his ceiling is high.

The 21-year-old talked to Kenya's national TV station NTV about his Celtic future as he is continually linked with a move to England.

"I still have contract with Celtic and I am their player, if anything comes up and it is good for me and the club, from there I will move on," he admitted.

Asked about whether he was currently in talks with any English Premier League sides, he continued: "At the moment there are some things, some talks going on.

"But I am concentrating with the national side and I have left that with my agent and I have not contacted him.

"There are talks going on, but as I said I am on international duty and I will now what is going on when I go back to the club."

Wanyama is currently struggling with leg injury, meaning he is unlikely to play this week.

I am hoping that his agent does have a negotiation with us.
