The fact that the club has put in a bid means that they value you in this instant. At the end of the day though, football is a job and one with a very short lifespan.

If players cared about how much a club values them, there would be way less transfer activity. What matters is making the right choice for your career at that point. And Arsenal is the best choice for his career.
Yet what I wrote is what multiple players have said a why they joined a team. As probably the biggest player as an example go read why Ronaldo changed his mind and joined Man U instead of us in 2003. Valuing a player matters.

Sensible minds would say just pay the difference and bring him in. A settled striker would be more beneficial for the course of the season but no we don't do things the easy way unless its a garbage player from Chelsea.
You guys wet the bed when we “overpay” and spend months lying about the actual fees and wages yet you’re still begging the club to overspend just so you can get a dopamine hit for meaningless games.

It’s a vicious cycle.

Ronaldo joined Utd, because they came in with an offer double what we had agreed. I think we were due to sign him for 6-7m utd came in with 12m

It's incredible how we somehow find ourselves have the excitement sucked out of every big signing we appear to make. By nook or by crook. Without fail.

Just once, it would be nice if we could have a major signing go from rumour through to announcement whilst the hype is still at peak...
Last one I can remember was Özil.

Just had a thought. Why havent we pulled out of this deal? Why would we risk this falling through and it being too late to go after our alternatives because we let them mess us around for so long? Why would we risk this falling apart and leaving it late to look at alternatives, the best of which who are available werre already have moved?

The answer is I think we would only wait this long if we were 100% certain it would happen and were confident the reason for the delay wouldnt prevent us completing the deal. That means the only logical assumption being this is still going on and we are not being linked to alternatives is because its not in doubt as the media who have us would have us believe. It may be a case of Sporting have agreed the deal but for some reason they would benefit under PSR by not completing the sale until they have signed their replacement so we are letting them do that as part of our agreement with them.

Arsenal Quotes

I’ve told Dave to cut off his ponytail. I think it makes him less aerodynamic.
