I made the same point a few days ago:

He can’t get outjerked by choir boys like Saka, it’s a bad look

Nothing we can do about it now. There will be enough chances for everyone as season goes on!

Didn't it take absolutely ages for Havertz to properly get going? He was the original charity pen taker in a 4-0 win. It wasn't till he got the winner against Brentford in late Novemeber that he really got going. And that's coming from a rival in the same league.

Why are you lying? Original charity pen taker was Aubameyang.

I don’t think we’re at the point of giving him Kai against Bournemouth make a wish penalties yet, but it’s concerning that he isn’t even getting chances.

I'm no Havertz superfan but in fairness whenever he played CF, he was largely good - think about his debut in the Community Shield. He had a poor start as a midfielder, and I'd argue he was never good in that position.

Wasn’t his best game I’ll admit that but you can’t buy a Bugatti and drive it in first gear.

We need start doing quick transitions and releasing the ball a lot quicker to play to his strengths. Let’s not act like we don’t know what he’s good at. Need to get him in positions like what Calafiori did for him vs Leeds, Dowman etc in the half space. A first time ball is all that’s needed rather than playing these square side to side passes that allows teams to reshape. As good as our CBs are they mostly play side to side rather than punching the ball directly through or over.

he should scored tap in when rice gave ball to him
i got the sense he was already mentally checked out / sufficiently discouraged by the way the game was going by that point, that he didnt bother sprinting into the box in anticipation of the delivery

Against a side like West Ham today he's not going to be receiving many through balls. That's just the reality in major leagues.

The opposition were happy to sit back and defend deep for the most part even at 2-0.

The opposition's tactics affect the game as well, you can't forget that.

We could have moved the ball a bit quicker at times but we were never going to be slicing them open like Olympiakos.
how many teams in the PL like Olympiakos?
be realistic, PL teams even the $hittest ones, play like this. Park the bus, being physical.

Start from day one, we should know there would not be too much space for him to run into.
This is PL, not Portuguese league.
Some just fancy he will play and perform like in Portugal.
