Remains to be seen tbh. Guys been out for a year, quite unlikely he comes back to his best level. I’d ease him in very gently so he has the best possible chance of being 100% for March, April and May.
I think he can start contributing next month let’s see. These modern footballers are beasts. I have faith we can see contributions earlier.

I hope Arteta really doesn't screw Gyokeres up again now with Havertz back, if he puts Havertz straight back into the starting lineup over Gyokeres when fully fit I still don't understand why he doesn't plan to start playing without any striker. Havertz originally came in as a CAM type player. If he drops Gyokeres again I bet you we'll end up going back down before the end of the season like we have all years with Havertz main starter.

Even if he's plan is to play without a proper striker, a #9 type player, Gyokeres would still be the better player to start, he pushes forward well & he (Gyokeres) gets a few extra players onto him which leaves more guys free to share the goals around which we are doing. Reason Gyokeres can't score much though is because of our playing style, he's probably not allowed to get up to goals for tap ins across goals etc. With him starting we are getting the wins against the teams when they parked the bus back defending leaving a lot more guys free to get more goals against these teams.
I am getting emery vibes (re elliott) about gyok's signing. I.e. arteta didn't actually want an out and out number 9 but forced upon him, he is obstinately not playing to Gyok's strengths to prove his way is best.

Gyok needs confidence in himself, but also confidence in his abilities from his manager and team mates so he is passed to and those runs are useful.

I was against his signing, I have felt an out and out striker doesnt work the way we play. I do however now see an opportunity for him if taken.

One of our main issues has been not killing off games, lots of wins by one goal when we could get a lead and rest players earlier in the game. Gyok offers that flat track bully option, making the oppo guarded about pushing up too much if gyok becomes an outlet that can add to our lead. It still needs tactical refinement though.

Just saw his goal, obviously nothing impressive and the definition of a tap-in but the way he instinctively went to screen off the defender to the left of him as the ball arrived into his area shows the type of CF play you haven't had in your squad in ages. Not sure even guys like RVP and Giroud had it, different types of players. Auba maybe, but again not in the same way.

It's hard to explain, but it's one of those small things that separate natural box strikers from the rest. It's not fancy or technically impressive, but it shows an awareness and willingness to use your strength to say "piss off, this space is mine if the ball ends up here".

It's a positive. It doesn't change his overall performances so far by any means but it does show he offers something different, which might prove to be valuable throughout the season. His goal compilation will be a bunch of ugly, scrappy goals but that is arguably something you have needed for a while.

There is a direct correlation so far this season between the team getting him involved early and how the game ends up going for him. Pretty much every time he's given the ball in a position where he can actually do something and feel involved, his overall performance is positive. There's still more to come from him individually of course but I hope this group learn that you have to help the guy help you.

Merino and White tried to find Gyok in the box... while Ødegaard and Timber will try to find Saka

He gets good positioning on long balls towards him, just need to get the ball to stick to him like glue now.

When you grow up with a club and you end up playing for them and winning things, you are from that club. I was born here. I was formulated here.
