Who are these top calibre strikers that A-M were expecting or wanted for the £55m the club spent on him? Even those who are defending him realise he has limitations but that doesn’t mean he can’t bang here and tear up this league - at this stage the main thing is whether he’ll help us get over the line. I’ve seen basic strikers like Lukaku hit 25 PL goals and mince CBs.
Really intrigued to see someone in this thread name their top 10 strikers in world football at the moment as it seems people are turning their noses here because they were holding out for a peak Benzema or Luis Suarez. Many didn’t want Ekitike 2 months ago but now they conveniently want him.
Kane, Mbappe, Haaland, Dembele, Isak, Alvarez, Ekitike, Martinez, Osimhen, Gyokeres.
Something like that. Includes a player I was clearly wrong about to hopefully show I'm trying to be as unbiased as possible.
@jones also performed some unspeakable ritualistic sacrifice during the summer so Frankfurt have transferred the ability of Marmoush into a Turkish teenager named Uzun who will probably be the transfer target of 2026, although he plays more as a 10 but with (to me) clear potential as a modern CF.
On the ball he might be the best I've seen of all recent strikers we've had here, genuine street ballers baller this kid. Doesn't have the athleticism of Marmoush or Ekitike but his ball striking is easily the best of them all, most of his goals are from 20 yards out.Kane, Mbappe, Haaland, Dembele, Isak, Alvarez, Ekitike, Martinez, Osimhen, Gyokeres.

His talent was undeniable last season already but he's added work rate and matching attitude this past summer, he'll be world class if he keeps this up no doubt.

Yea that one he hit with the side of the ball of the foot. His assist that game was a notch above evenHe gives me serious RVP vibes, especially in the way he strikes the ball. Very similar mechanics in how he moves his body, arms etc. He just gets unreal power on efforts that visually look like a fairly soft pass until the ball is hit
Think it was last week in the goal fest against Gladbach that he runs onto a cheeky backheel pass in the box and it just rockets into the top corner while looking like a soft inside foot finish. Really is a sign of superb technical ability if you can do that.
Hard to say really, the defence is really shaky last few weeks although it should be much better not just on paper. Against Gladbach there were too many changes once we were 6-0 up so it's forgiven but too many errors before vs Union.
Uzun is incredible, playing like a young Benzema at the moment. Just from his last match

His assist was even better

Only noticed him this year in the Galatarsay 5-1 match but immediately pinged @jones to find out more about him. Looked special already on first viewingThat’s a fair and balanced list imo. Excluding Gyokeres and Osimhen (I was open to him too) the rest who were realistically available probably would have cost minimum 80m and above which I’m not sure the club were ready to do in the last window.
It’s quite ironic that you mentioned Uzun as I was watching a few highlights of him the other day and I was surprised not many on here have really mentioned him like that. He looks technically sound + his ball striking looks superb. With 8 G/A in 5 apps in the Bundesliga, I’m sure someone will take a punt next summer.
Your boy has a great performance today.Only thing Havertz is better at than Gyökeres in a meaningful way is being an aerial threat. You'd think we have a Benz/Firmino on our hands the way his link up play is mentioned. He's much closer to Chamakh (most similar player imo) than to your favourite link up 9.
