I like his attitude and he's given 100% all season, but he's just not a good enough footballer for this level. People will show to his stats, are they really that good? When goals and wrestling is your only contribution, then 11 non-penalty goals against bottom half teams not really that impressive.
If we want to see better football next season, we need to raise the technical level in attack.

Gabriel Jesus in his Arsenal career:
21 goals (20 Non-penalty goals+ 1 penalty) + 14 assists in 4102 mins
(0.44 Non-penalty goals per 90, 0.31 assists per 90)

Gyokeres:
21 goals (17 Non-penalty goals+ 4 penalties) + 3 assists in 3482 mins
(0.44 Non-penalty goals per 90, 0.08 assists per 90)

Gabriel Jesus had 2 ACLs, one in each knee , and still scoring at the same rate as Gyokeres while assisting 4x multiples more.

Gyokeres fans justify his diabolical technique & hold-up and link-up play by pointing out his goalscoring record as if its impressive, its as average as the likes of Gabriel Jesus & Welbeck. Not even remotely close to Haaland & Kane and others who are deemed world class.

Nothing new just a load of Seskosexuals piling here on a pre-season game.

Either them or Havertz stans, nothing much to say.

Had a bad game and that is it, still scored and created few good lay-offs for the teammates, didn't spring today with pace and looked slow, but not a reason to call him gone when Havertz is still here lol.

You are a disgrace, remove the Henry DP instantly, you are not a football man.

Doesn't appreciate the mighty Nacho
A competent striker would never play for a penalty when 1v1 with the keeper.

Yet you are here, football man.

The amount of stick this guy gets even before he signed, when he signed and even in the run-in where he doing a great service to the team, he gets stick.

It's unfair criticism, selective scapegoating and just ignoring lot of other problems that present way more issues than he does.

And all that in a ****ing pre-season game. I'll be here when he still is our number one goalscorer fyi.

I’m neither of them and I think it’s just time to accept that he’s not of the level required.

Watched him for a whole season, watched him get better in the back end of last season but even the level he got to was decent at best. He’s okay but when the aim is PL domination and a CL I think he’s going to get a lot of heat this season.

And that is fine, fair criticism is just and I'm not against it.

What I'm against is just a bunch of pointless opinions piling on the guy when we don't have anything better at the club right now. And people just can't wait to see him fail, it's been like that even before he arrived - it's like they want him to fail so bad just so their opinion proves right, ignoring the impact he had for us in his first season where it didn't really click for him.

And still, I'm pretty sure that Gyokeres didn't hit his peak here and that he has more in his locker - whether that is the connection with the midfield or something, not quite sure but I'm not ready to give up on the guy.

But that is me, I'm maybe in the minority, but I still believe he can contribute well - also not against adding quality to the team, just can't take all the **** people give him, he doesn't deserve it.

The Alvarez thread having so many posters saying they wouldn't swap Gyokeres for Alvarez, who remembers that?

This place man honestly.

Who cares if he's top scorer? He makes the team and everyone around him worse.

He's so mediocre. I don't understand the argument for him. If we could sell him to Atletico as part of a deal for Alvarez, I would be ecstatic.
