Was the Arsenal fanbase too hard on Giroud - France's all time leading goalscorer?

Were the fans too harsh on Giroud?

Lacazette was a much better striker, let alone Gabriel Jesus.
In the first season or two Laca was way better than Giroud, although guys like @BigPoppaPump will always mention that later fat version of Laca who wasn't even a football player just to prove he was always right about him

He was getting subbed off every game because of his awful stamina and didn't he end up getting dropped in his first season? Also one of his first of many goal droughts happened in his first two seasons. He camw to Arsenal slow and unfit it's not something that happened over time.

True, but it was mostly quality 60min from him when he was playing, was impressed with his first season under Emery when he would give us a full package rather than some poacher goal and being useless for the rest. Even under Arteta, our attack looked better when Auba was injured or unavailable, Laca would connect better with others.

Not sure if it was the price tag that annoyed you or his general fitness level, but he was better than you would be willing to admit

Lacca got Arsenal player of the season, Giroud never came close.

Giroud was horrible for us. The fact that he is good now when he is old doesn't change the fact he was terrible when he played for us.

In fact he was one of the biggest reason holding us back from 13-16. We had tons of playmakers trying to thread balls through and he constantly looks like running in mud.

Fs how is this relevant in any way???!
Class and style matters. How are you going to sell shirts when your forward looks like Iain Dowie

Giroud played in a team with peak Özil, Alexis, Santi

Giroud was (somehow) the only player out of all these, to win the premier league playe of the month award too

I mean, looking at how his career has gone... if anything, Arsenal were holding Giroud back.

He never won a Community Shield anywhere but The Arsenal, so I beg to fu3king differ mate!

Thinking back around that time I think the entire arsenal forum and arsenal fans everywhere agreed he was a good backup player to come on as an impact sub. But remember times when he was leading our line and was absolute dreadful.

Couldn’t beat defenders 1vs1. Was slow on through balls, and was so frustrating. I can remember teams playing such a high line in defence against us as Giroud was no threat with pace.

Questionable times when wenger was obsessed with tall slow incompetent players like Giroud, Bendtner, Sonago, & Chamakh to lead our line lol. Adebayor to name another. All went tits up after the Eduardo injury and that type of pacey lethal striker was deemed obsolete.

Giroud is a very good player, not suited to “wengerball “ at all tho. That speaks more about the limitations about Wenger ball than anything else, although that’s a truth Trax will try and have my tongue for
